Thanks for the tip on the 372 O-ring, the Farmertec Kits did not include them and so I used a drop of 1184 like you did but was worried a bit about it. am watching everything you have and am learning A lot.

Great video mate definitely makes a difference having the right tools! I watched your porting videos on the 372 and haven some port work on motor bikes I had a good understanding of how it works but was great to see how you ported your 372 so I got my self a OEM big bore kit and got stuck into it and man o man did it make a difference. Keep up the great work with all you do

Ironhorse chainsaw love it! I helped on a race car before. When they would change the jets and power valves they used chapstick on the float bowl gasket. I was wondering if that would help keep the gasket on while you assembled the case? Thanks for sharing your knowledge sir!!
@theironhorse66005 жыл бұрын
That’s an old racer Trick! It keeps the gaskets from ripping the next time you change jets!

as small as these things are its still time consuming to do it right , been working on cars 30+ years but like you say working on chainsaws etc are fun, being a screwdge ive been looking at the lisle 16000 hones and 15000 hones apparently briggs and stratton recomend the lisle hones to actualy bore out there small engines, watched a guy do it on a small bike engine and the bore ended up perfect, using a bore gauge the whole length of the bore was spot on.
@phogelbice5 жыл бұрын
I ported a huztl g372 big bore, I dont expect it to last but so far it's running real strong, .020 squish and if I remember correct almost 200 psi. Lasted around 8 tanks of fuel so far pulling 30" and 20" bars full house chain. Think I will do as you said put a oem crank in it once (if...) it blows up. =) Thanks for the videos!
@johnclarke66474 жыл бұрын
I use 1184 on the case gasket and Dirko HT on the base gasket. I build only Stihl saws and I use hot & cold to put the crank in the case halves. I do replace the seals. I use Redline assembly lube on most moving parts

I find it odd that the 572 and 562 series have crank stuffers (the plastic fillers that make the crank round) on them to get higher primary cranks case compression ratio yet the 372 series has none. Have you tried using crank stuffers on the 372 cranks to raise the primary compression ratio in the crankcase ? A higher Primary CR should raise the power output.
@theironhorse66005 жыл бұрын
Oh it would! Problem is that we are on the edge of all the horsepower that the saw can stand! Any more and it wouldn’t last long! You are a person I would like to sit down and talk shop with someday!

Hello buddy, quick comment whilst I watch the vid 😀 I’ve just uploaded a vid of the 390xp for you to see. It runs well and has defo made a difference. It’s cutting ash in the vid but it’s a little dull, I’d just been a couple of hours chogging down a huge poplar stem over a garage that was double bar length so was a little knackered too 😂 What are your thoughts on unlimited coils, needed?
@theironhorse66005 жыл бұрын
Not on a 390! A 372 I’m pushing the limit I will use them!
