This Tinnitus Relaxer is 2kHz to 20kHz Linear Static Masking Noise. It may help mask tinnitus for some listeners, but not all. It depends on the listener's unique and individual circumstances. There are several frequency ranges in videos in this playlist to check out.
Linear noise means it is an even frequency response (also known as a flat response) between 2 kilohertz and 20 kilohertz. What Noise is a flat response across the whole listening spectrum. Below 2000Hz, the frequencies steeply drop off. Most of the tinnitus series up to this point are sloping frequency bands, like Violet Noise and Blue Noise, or bell curve boosts.
Please leave a comment if you find relief with this masker. As a long time ambient sound creator, it is wonderful to hear when something is appreciated, and even if not to learn and create even better content in the future.
My ears ring sometimes and sometimes not. I reach to noise for relief, combined with other health and well being techniques. There are Audiologists here on KZbin that explain this at length and seeking professional advice or attention from an Audiologist is a great way to help mitigate your tinnitus with a individual plan based on one's circumstances.
There is also information on the American Tinnitus Association website.
Thanks for this request Cody, if one person has a request, it is likely to benefit others.
Please share your suggestions and experiences in the comments as they are great support for our community here.
Thanks for listening, Dale

Sherry - for what it's worth, I have exactly the same experience re resting my left ear on a pillow at night - if I do that, the ringing is first, much more noticeable in my left ear and second, it keeps me awake. Thing is, I *like* to sleep on my side, so I keep defaulting to turning my left ear onto the pillow. And I do the same as you - and just did last night actually- I play this particular video all night long either alone or at the same time as Dale's "The Sweeping Tinnitus Calmer 7kHz Masker " as it helps mask the ringing so I can sleep. I'm so grateful to Dale for this and his other videos.

I’m a xc skier and the gliding sound over freshly groomed tracks is very soothing to me, added in with the crackle crunch of frozen crystals when we get out 1st thing in the morning for first tracks! Got tinnitus in Apr 2020. It’s been a journey finding ways to live with it but qi gong and tai chi have helped also. Trying to cut back on sweets by getting that satisfied through fresh fruits. Also cut back on caffeine by drinking decaf tea or herbal tea. It’s a journey and until there’s a cure, I’m thankful for people like yourself who are helping this community through their expertise and knowledge of sound.

Dale - thank you SO much. I've always had a "low grade" quiet tinnitus that I wouldn't notice for months at a time until two weeks ago. Then...boom...at the volume that people normally listen to TV at, I got two sounds - either the equivalent of the electronic "whine" from an old tube television and/or a sound very close to the sound that played at the same time as the old television test patterns back in the days when VHF and UHF TV stations would go off the air past midnight. Those sounds played loudly all day, all night, with a break of a few hours here and there...I was unable to sleep, even to eat much after a while as the tinnitus was wearing me down. I'm not one to tear up, but when I found this video and your "The Sweeping Tinnitus Calmer 7kHz Masker" I started to tear up in relief. Sometimes - like today - I play this video at the same time as your "The Sweeping Tinnitus Calmer 7kHz Masker" - both together seems to help, if that makes any sense. I don't think I'd be able to sleep without these videos. Thanks again - you're a life saver.

Hi, i just wanted to share a bit my story. I very recently started hearing this noice, which never before i heard, like, a little bit more than a month ago. I'm sure that never before i had tinnitus because i was the type of person who loves being alone in a quiet room. And suddenly, this sound started. At first, it was just for moments, easy to ignore and usually went away after a while or i could mask it with music really low and it went away. I thought maybe i was hearing music a bit too loud, which was weird because i usually are very careful with the volume, but i ignored it. Then, suddenly, a couple of days before it worsened like, a ton i couldn't sleep, i couldn't be in a room alone, but not only that, i couln't be even in a room full of people that i heard this sound, even above the TV, and it started driving me very crazy. I went to the medic and they sended me to an audiometry, which i'll have next week. In the meantime, this sound is driving me insane. I've never had so much anxiety in my life as in these moments and i still have hope this is temporary, because the thought this thing is permanent makes me really really scared. This video has helped me a ton to keep going throught this horrible week. Wish me luck to be between the lucky ones who their tinnitus is just temporary. In the meantime, i'll be visiting this video frecuently before i go insane.
@LPCLASSICAL

I panicked too in the early days - I got used to it. You need to accept it is probably going to be permanent. A bigger problem for me is the slight unsteady feeling I have when walking around - think I may have menieres. Keep your sodium intake down to 2 grams per day. Cut out gluten - watch some diet videos for tinnitus.

I thought about giving an update. Sadly, it didn't went away, at least not yet. But, it did go down by a lot after i visited another specialist who gave me some medicine to sleep. I'm 100% sure because now i only hear it when it's silent or i'm still and there's few sounds on the enviroment, when, as i said in this comment, before i could hear it even above the tv. Our theory is that is because of stress, and of the three that visited, they mostly think it probably should go away, but as everything related to tinnitus, they can't be 100% sure. As for my mental health, it deteriorated a lot at the beginning, but i've learned to manage the tinnitus. Now is mostly a minor annoyance, and mostly when i go to sleep or i'm with my closed headphones (question for somebody outhere, Open back headphones help?). though i don't lose sleep because of it. I still use this videos, but only when i'm playing some videogame with lots of silence or i'm reading. This is the best masker i found for my tinnitus. For some reason, brown and pink noise make it louder. To anyone going throught this, beware, the first month is going to be a living hell, following two months of ups and downs, but eventually you can get used to it. I guess in my case, the fact that it went from 100 to a 20 really helped a lot. Some advice: First, find something to completely mask your tinnitus. It will help to give you some sense of control and stability. Then find something that mask your tinnitus but not completely, the app ZEN Tinnitus have great sounds for this, or maybe the TV at low volume, a podcast, etc. The idea is to have some sound that your brain can concentrate on instead of the tinnitus without masking it completelly, making it easier to get used. Use this for two hours a day. If you are getting afraid to it, try sessions of listening to your tinnitus completely in silence for 20 minutes, with some breathing exercices. Try to distract your mind from it, the more you think about it, the louder it gets. Cutting caffeine helps with anxiety, and therefore with the tinnitus, though i started to drink black tea again and it doesn't make my tinnitus louder by any mean, but that can be different for you. Drinking a lot of water does seems to help. Don't be scared of headphones, BUT use them at the lowest volume that mask your tinnitus and take breaks. I was really scared of them at the beggining, but when i started to use them again, my tinnitus even started to get quieter after listening to music, which i think it has to do with the fact that it helps me with anxiety. If you're having trouble sleeping, melatol can help, even there's some studies that says it lowers tinnitus. Getting good sleep is KEY. The days where my sleep is bad are the worst by far. Good luck.

This mitigates a slice of the racket in my ears-one of the softer bands of noise between the screeching above it and the howling combinations below it. I’m working on as many bands individually as I can since I haven’t found anything that covers the whole array of tones and whistles and ringing and howls. Thank you for the opportunity to experiment and to learn more about audio characteristics. Your work is amazing. I hope I can understand it better when/if I can reduce the racket that makes it hard for me to even think...Thanks, again.

Im sorry that you have it to that level - mine is fairly bearable - but it could get worse. Did you try limiting your sodium intake to 2 grams a day? I cut down on salt and it does help me. Days after salt binge - it's bad.

Im glad if it helps. Some people have said they play 2-3 noise at once maybe that helps cover the other slices. Thanks for your input and for listening

Thank you again Dale! Very recent sudden onset of tinnitus due to loss of high frequency hearing. Hearing is fine until 1500-200hz. ENT thinks it's due to Covid. Just got hearing aids and going to try my best to do sound therapy and general keeping my spirits up. Happy Easter!!

This is actually the first audio-vid I've found that sounds most like the straight-line constant HISS I hear all day and into sleep. Rarely do I ever get an actual tone, it's very short-lived. This goes to the top of my list, thanks Dale!

I think the hiss is made up of hundreds of light but sharp tones and you don't notice because there are so many - maybe - occasionally one gets louder than the others and that is where the problem really starts.

Your content is really good. Thank you for such a consideration, attention and all the work dedicated to the people with tinnitus. Your samples are much better compared to some sounds in some tinnitus apps... I wish they were all in an app to combine that for those who have more than one tone.
