I almost can't believe this. I have been listening to your other sounds, they are helpful and soothing, but haven't provided total relief. As soon as I pressed play it felt like I was pressing mute on my tinnitus. I can't thank you enough for the time and effort you put into creating these sound videos. I have enjoyed falling asleep to the ocean and brown noise video, even though I could still hear my tinnitus. With this sound though I just want to hug my phone!

Anybody here found their T has got worse since their first Covid vaccine? Mine has. I was reluctant to have the 2nd and 3rd jabs (but did). In the USA there are news reports of this matter. Also here in the UK I heard a guy phone a radio station stating the same issue. This masker works lovely for me so thank you.
@dalesnale
@dalesnale 2 жыл бұрын
Dr Ben Thompson Aud discusses this topic on his channel. There are a channel comments reporting increased T. Whether it is other factors like stress or whether there is neuro-inflammation causing issues will likely be revealed in studies this year. Personally, I thought no concert sound, music performing and less flying and driving for two years would lower my ringing, yet, this has not been the case for me.

@@dalesnale Im a concert goer funny enough. I dont fancy going to gigs now though due to hot rooms full of people spreading viruses. I guess I will return one day. I do wonder if stress over Covid has made my T worse. If thats the case its should calm down soon as we hopefully go back to normal lives. Cheers

@@stigflambard9799 it’s difficult to say on the vaccine. I have no doubt for some it did effect their tinnitus level….of course some report having Covid likewise affected it. Overall it’s probably a small percent. Millions suffer from tinnitus…not surprised some report an increase just from statistical probability.

This is amazing! I am definitely learning more about the frequency of my tinnitus through your videos! Mine must be somewhere up in this range! I’ve always had it very high pitched, it’s very hard to describe it to someone who wonders what it sounds like. This one is a winner and masks mines very well! Thank you so much Dale. I’m so thankful for your videos and your efforts! You’ve helped me and many others here in more way than you could know, thank you!

I'm a former nurse, my husband is a degreed chemist. So the following suggestions might have some merit: Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a neurotransmitter. It SLOWS DOWN nerve impulses. Rogue nerve impulses aggravate tinnitus. GABA, an over-the-counter nerve-calming supplement, might help. Consult your doctor before you take any pills that aren't prescribed for you, because there's always the chance of drug interactions. With your doctor's permission, it wouldn't be a bad idea to also add B12 and B complex supplements (because they nourish the nerves). Increase your water intake, and cut back on substances that aggravate the nervous system (like caffeine, monosodium glutamate, and aspartame). I'm just spitballing the following idea, but maybe some scientist in the group will have an "AHA" moment. Certain chemicals block neurotransmission. Curare, Botox, etc. I think that an effective treatment for tinnitus will eventually be developed by utilizing therapeutic amounts of these nerve blockers. The trick would be in targeting the precise cells that need treatment. I'm not a microbiologist, but don't different groups of cells have their own chemical "address?" Once the address of the auditory nerve can be isolated, targeted drugs can reduce their activity. Maybe tinnitus could be cured or effectively treated if the auditory nerve could take a day or two off to rest and recuperate. Some scientists theorize that the problem is in the auditory cortex. Same solution: determine what the address is, and slow down the neural activity. They have drugs that reduce epilepsy (which is errant neural activity in a different part of the brain). Do the same for tinnitus brain. Hopefully this suggestion gives some scientist the clue that he needs.

I knew my tinnitus was multiple pitches (and in the past couple years a couple of the higher ones have got louder) and I thought I'd figured out the main frequency for my tinnitus (and a good masking sound) as being around 8kHz, but wow this one masked mine really quick! Found your channel a little while back and I always seem to go back to the same few videos when i need them, so this one is definitely going to be another go-to masker. Thank you for making these!

Nope. Can’t hear anything but the 5 or 6 separate tones normal to my almost 50 years of tinnitus due to medications I was prescribed as a child w/ juvenile arthritis (which turned out to be an erroneous diagnosis). I’ve tried everything reasonable. Now listening in sequence to try to identify the spectrum of frequencies I hear, and try to knock them down one by one. Thank you for the uploads-you have helped many people, and I hope to be among them!

This helps me at night, masking my tinnitus. But I noticed in the 20 nights I use it, that my tinnitus during the day has flared up a little. I was wondering if it is because of this white noise, having also read that a 2018 study suggests that in the long run white noises cause the opposite results to tinnitus and affect the cognitive too... I am a bit confused here...To be clear, I use this as an ambient noise not using headphones or in ear devices. Opinions?

Would it be useful to create a combined tone that unites the 15 and 13 hz sounds, and perhaps one that is higher still, into one single sound? Or would that defeat the purpose? I keep thinking about how, when I first got tinnitus, if I let the faucet run full blast and listened to that for a while, then turned the faucet off, my T would vanish for a few moments. I wonder if that wall of sound isn't more effective than a single tone. Just wondering.

Once I learned about masking, and round the sound that was closest put the ear bud in left ear, (no T in right ear) put the volume just a pinch louder the the T and went about my chores or what ever. I would listen while I watched tv. Once I diconnected, the T was a whole lot quieter. Wish the best to all fellow humans who like me hear the T, sometimes but not all times. Susan

This video is more like a light rain on a tin roof, my tinnitus is at "TV flyback freq", 15.75kHz pure tone, loud and torturous, been there since I was 20 and am 71 now, I always say, I'll have peace and quiet when I pass away, at that time good ridance to this annoyance. I do hear my tinnitus in my head as I'm listening to this video, my tinnitus is not a sound that I can detect at the ear drum, it's beyond and in the brain. It happened when I worked as a laborer next to a paving machine's engine, went to bed w/ riinging and one day the ringing tinnitus was still there when I awoke, been there for about 51 years now, no relief but i have gotten use to it, just accept it, nothing I can do. I only wish I had the insight to use cigarette filters in my ears back then when I was essentially a kid, no OSHA back then. Protect your ears young-uns, they're the only ones you got and they are precious. Maybe one day Elon Musk could create an implant in my brain that would cancel my internal brain tinnitus, on my bucket list before my dirt nap.

What does ot mean if we can't hear it? I listen to many of your noise videos. Maybe I'm looking at this all wrong. Is the noise supposed to match the noise in your head? Because that's what I've been expecting and haven't found anything that does. There are many noises that are close and when I combine two, three, or more is when I get real close to the noise in my head. I do get relief which is why I continue to listen. The ocean is what gives me the most relief and is very soothing but not when it's combined with music.

Brayden u look young, is your T reactive? Mine is and I have the same frequency (I’m 36 and my hearing loss is at 16khz which is normal). Is it in the center of your head or one ear vs the other?

When my T is loud (like today) and I turn THIS on, it is perfectly masked and brings me great relief, so, thank you SO VERY MUCH for your hard work and dedication to making T sufferers, suffer less, Dale. SO appreciated. I have been suffering from T for the last 12 years or so, originally I discovered I had it while at work (open space) as my colleague was talking about his and I found out what it was and discovered I had this persistant ringing in my ears too then. I attribute most damage to riding my then-motorcycle with a cheap helmet, no ear plugs, a DBK-less exhaust and hitting it full-throttle, thereby destroying my inner cells with extremely high wind noises, although I didn't realise it then, only that my head would hurt after such a ride. It's been more or less constant since then. It's weird because it sometimes get VERY LOUD and debilitating (very loud continuous hissing sound similar to this in both ears) and on some days, it's almost non-existent! Needless to say, those days are such a relief. It's usually 2 days on, 1 day off, or 1 day on 1 day off, and 3 days on 2 days off, it alternates. I have been repeatedly told that getting hearing aids can tremendously reduce how much we hear them, so I'm about to go to the doc tomorrow to get that sorted, see if he recommends I wear them, and if so, how that helps. Will let you know if anything good comes out of this. Anyways, merci beaucoup Dale. :)

You are welcome Frederic. Thanks for sharing your story. As a rider, I always wore custom or foam earplugs. Motorcycles have more safety concerns than staying upright. :)

@@dalesnale you're welcome Dale. Indeed, I wish I had been more careful back then. My hearing exam yesterday shows a 30% loss in conversation situations, and 50% in high-frequency sounds, both ears. Sad for a 44 yo guy, the doctor was surprised based on my age. Yesterday my T was almost non-existent. Today it's loud af. So hard to live with when it is like that. 😢 Next Tuesday I'm meeting another specialist to get some hearing aids, as I was told they can really help with T. In the meantime, thank you again... 🙏🏼

Works for my left ear but I have high frequency loss in my right ear so in that I can't hear from the environment the pitch I have in my head. Some sweeping/combined maskers give some temporary relief from my right ear tinnitus but I need them quite loud to get what seems like a resonant response in my ear. When that happens I can feel the tinnitus briefly dropping out completely, which after 45 years is a lovely, if odd, sensation. Doesn't continue and doesn't last, unfortunately.

It might not be helpful if the type of sound you hear is same, such as noise. This video would have the potential benefit for listeners who have a ringing sound that is close to 15 kHz as the noise is centered around this frequency. If the sound in your mind is more like noise than tone, perhaps a more different sound like crickets is worth a try: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHemdpVsgtSKmpY
