There is no cure. Masking gives my brain a rest, for which I am very grateful. 😊
@jebbishop34 ай бұрын
Audio like this isn't just for masking, but can help the brain retrain itself to ignore tinnitus. A cure in the sense you likely have in mind would mean repairing/regrowing nerve tissue, which is not on the near horizon.

It's more annoying than my tinnitus... but when I stopped it, the ringing seemed to be softer. I'm going to have to play with this a bit. I've never had any of these affect my hearing before. Thanks for sharing.

I have had this happen when I listen to cricket sounds that are close in pitch to the tinnitus. It's like some weird trick to the brain or something. Sometimes I find the tinnitus starts to sound a bit like the crickets afterwards.
@roseannschweikert296021 күн бұрын
@BruceGreenberg there is music therapy if you don't like the the insect sounds there's all the noises too, white, pink, green, each with its own frequency. Find what's best for you. I like the rain sound but when it's really loud I use shimmering crickets sound it reminds me of camping which I loved to do but we don't get to go camping anymore try it, it can't hurt right?
@BruceGreenberg21 күн бұрын
@@roseannschweikert2960 No, you misunderstood (my fault really). It is annoying, but my point was that I'd never had anything relieve my tinnitus for any period of time. So, it was actually very cool. My tinnitus doesn't really bother me, other than the effect it has on my hearing and not liking quiet places anymore. I've been able to learn to live with it. I know other people aren't as lucky as I am. Thank you for the suggestions.

Thanks for putting this up. This is one of the many sounds in KZbin that I use. There is no cure, once that idea settles in you are psychologically more at ease in accepting it. The problem is even if you can ignore it for months it might recur strongly episodically.

Agree. The only strategy for it is "mind over matter" - convince your mind it doesn't matter and you will no longer mind it. :)

@@roseannschweikert2960 THIS! This is what I struggle with. At times it's soft and bearable, to the point where I know it's there but it doesn't interfere and I almost "forget". But other times it's sooooo brutal that it makes me cry from frustration. It doesn't matter what I do, what I listen to, what I think about, read, sing... It's just SOOOOOO LOUD!!!! It almost drowns people out. The only thing that seems to help is to walk outside - just go for a walk and let the sounds of nature distract me. Rustling trees, birds chirping, the ducks quacking. It's not any one thing and it doesn't always work but it keeps me from going insane. The problem is I can't just walk out of meetings at work. What a dilemma to live with.

@carlaguevara8913 I know it's horrible I just got over a massive ear infection from my hearing aides that i use for for tinnitus, it was not their fault I would drop it on the floor and stick back in my ear or what the doctor agreed with is after wearing them my ears would get incredibly itchy! I would stick my fingers in my ears like most people would do but I have long nails and I cook and clean and god knows what was under my nails. Anyway it lasted a month I've had chemo therapy 2x in my life I never thought I could have something worse the screaming in my ears on top of the pain was unbearable I had to go to the emergency room who then sent me back to the ear doctor (ENT) I don't know why but when my ears finally opened my tinnitus is half as loud as it use to be the first week I could barely hear anything, oh joy I thought it was worth the agony I went thru for a month but it is gradually getting louder again but it's bearable I'm so afraid it's going to start screaming again. My heart and ears go out to you I know you said sound therapy doesn't work but there is all different types of sounds and music with different frequencies that might help at least when you try to sleep. Good luck sweetie let me know how it's going. If you need to bullshit about the bullshit we are all going thru lol 🥰😇

I find when I listen to this type of sound I can slowly bring the volume down a bit the longer I listen. I need it higher at first, but after a while the mind gets used to it so I can lower it a bit and it still works

My tinnitus sounds like the cicada sound at the moment, but I would have to have the video up quite loud to cover the sound itself. Plus I can also feel the buzz in my ears. Sometimes my tinnitus changes to a different sound. Does anyone else have any of these symptoms? I think I must be weird 😮

I usually find tinnitus relief droning sounds great for combating tinniutus AND helping as a background noise for work, but this sound file has a looping sound of a train horn that comes every 80 seconds in the background of the left channel and each such occurrence breaks my concentration. Shame. Other than that, it's good.
