Another *Outstanding, Quality Video* by *Tintswalo Safari Lodge* The Lionesses definitely look in fantastic condition, healthy, strong with plenty of muscle bulk. I love 'The Red Road Lion' 💗 he represents & showcases Africa at it's best! He's *Proud, Loud, Noble & Majestic*. Looks very picturesque around the water & a wee little hippo calf 💕 Thank you, Neil, Alistair, & Wise, my favourite tracker 🤙 Keep toasty & warm over there, stay safe & well-from Australia.

The Red Road male is a very tough boy, he weathered the storm of the two older Orpen males (one of whom - Junior - is a classic big Matimba offspring); a lesser male would have been killed or pushed out, but he stood his ground and they left him his space; that's pretty rare.

You have a unique and admirable country. I did not know your country received cold weather. So much I do not know. Red Road Male, I can find words to describe what my heart feels when my eyes see him. I try magnificent, beautiful, no it does not work. So thank you for the challenge my brain faces with this.

My two favorite lion cubbie antics are these : No. 1 -- when they are really little -- around 6 to 8 wks -- and walking with mom -- they have to trot to keep up with her, and they kind of rock back and forth -- so so cute; I just want to pick them up and cuddle -- the 2nd thing is when they are introduced to dad and they just crawl all over him -- sometimes dad will stand up to shoo them away, and instead the cubbies bite his tail, or they climb on top and then start pulling at his mane -- it's so funny -- and so endearing -- more experienced fathers just accept it as cub behavior -- especially if mom's around -- I've also seen videos where dad's getting a little too forceful for mom -- and mom comes over and swats him right in the face while telling him off at the same time -- the male lion will make noise in case someone's looking, but otherwise is smart and backs off the cubbies -- I don't mean to send anyone away from this channel to watch a video -- but somewhere there is a 2 minute video where mom and the rest of the girls are off to the grocery store to pick up something for dinner, leaving the small little cubbies in the care of probably a 5 y/o male or sub-adult male -- whoever captured the video was able to capture the audio -- the male is lying on his back, tummy up, all four paws in the air, and snoring away -- and here comes the hyenas -- they assess that the womenfolk are gone, the cubbies are young, and the babysitter is sleeping on the job -- the cubbies sense danger and go hide and start calling -- and just when you think the hyena is going to snatch a cub -- here comes mom and the girls racing as fast as she can and they take care of business -- the male is still asleep -- until it is all over, and he tries to fake it by standing up like he's going to do something -- the aunties come over and give him a piece of their mind -- and once mom has checked on all the cubs, she literally comes over and not only yells at him -- she swats him right across the face -- it's the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life -- and the funniest, only because both the cubbies and the hyenas live to have another day ....

My cat was sleeping beside me, and when he heard the male calling, he hopped up, listened, then got the heck outta Dodge (ie, ran under the sofa hoping not to be found) -- it was so funny -- thanks for sharing. It's only been since covid19 isolation and binge watching youtube -- lots of lion videos -- lions cubs are the cutest things ever, but my favorite animal are the painted wild dogs because I think they are so beautiful -- but I've come to understand that the only place lions, and tigers, etc. belong are in their natural habitats. That said, however, because the wild lion population has been so severely decimated, whenever possible, I do believe in medical assistance -- why let them suffer, especially if it's an ailment that is easily treatable. If you can dart a lion to collar it to study (which I support), you can dart a lion to give it medical attention -- just my thoughts -- but I really really appreciate the videos -- I know you must work long hours, especially up at dawn, and often the weather sucks, but there are days and some magical moments that make you guys having the best jobs ever !!!

Red Road Pride disbanded….Red Road male seen here went nomadic until taking over the Nharu Pride and the two lionesses (his mother and auntie) returned to the Natal Birmingham Pride
RRM is one of the most beautiful male lion I have ever seen, and I am sad that he has such a hard time now because of the big fight with the Tintswalo males and his females that are agressive around him. In this footage he is just magnificent and strong looking!!! Male lions have such a hard life!

This is Oean City, NJ again. I watched another video explaining the different sub-species of lions. Are all the lions you watch the same sub-species? I realize the takeovers are vital to the genetic lines, so is it always with the same sub-species? Thank you.

I wonder if pride males will take in other males to form a coalition, oreven just 1 pride male to take in to add to his strength to protect the pride and territory.
