Hi John, I'm sitting here behind the screen with a big smile on my face, and honestly enjoying your video. How nice that you're happy with the build, and great that you built it so well without working drawings. Good luck with the tiny tool grinder! A little tip: When working with aluminum, WD40 is often recommended. But I find it stinky, it leaves a greasy residue and it's expensive. That's why I use alcohol. Regular bioethanol cools and lubricates aluminum sufficiently, prevents teeth from getting clogged and leaves no residue.

I use IPA after seeing it recommended by Stefan Gotteswinter, works very well. I glue a lot of aluminium parts so using any kind of cutting oil meant I had to carefully clean the parts, or avoid cutting fluid at all. Now I use IPA it helps with the cutting and degreases it at the same time! haha.

@@caskwith I would still prefer bioethanol. The effect is almost the same, but it stinks less than IPA, it is less toxic, less bad for the skin and also cheaper. No, you cannot drink it, its denaturalised.

@@Michel-Uphoff That's fair enough. I use the IPA because I always have it on hand anyway. Last thing I need is more solvents 😂. I have never noticed a bad odour with IPA, maybe I am not sensitive to it?

If you worry about your fingers why do you stick your hand inside between the moving wheels? You should cover those wheels much better to protect your hands. Imagine what might happen if the blade snaps...

Yes you are right a better guard would be a sensible move. I have thought of several solutions. the one I favour is an acrylic screen so the wheels can still be seen. John
