Definitely the kind of amp you could use as a bit of a power upgrade for door speakers or tweeters vs the speaker level output of your average head unit. It's small enough you could easily have it tucked away in the dash of your vehicle. Basically hook it up and forget it. For that purpose it's not bad since most of the time it's going to be hooked up to 4 ohm speakers anyway.
@whichgodofthousandsmeansno53062 жыл бұрын
Agree. Could be a good bang for the buck if upgrading your door speakers but a full amp install is not in your budget. Considering all the name brand "power pack" mini amps are in the $200 range not including install. This amp could use the factory deck power wire no problem.

Any heat issues? I was thinking of hooking my 4 door speakers to a 4 channel and maybe running the dash tweeters off a little dedicated 2 channel and this would be pretty handy tucked away in the dash as long as it runs pretty reliably so I don't have to keep digging it back out. My dsp can feed 8 channels and taking advantage will, hopefully, give me more control over individual channel tweaks.

Maybe it would make power if the level inputs had more power? (Depending on head unit). Amplifiers amplify signal. Well if the input signal is higher then the amps output will be higher. Similarly how when increasing voltage to an amp it increases output. Try a head unit with higher output and on every amp Dyno you should add disclaimer what power your head unit puts out. Every YT channel that conducts amp dynos should or all use one standard head unit (riiiight)

You know, this would be a really great solution actually to get a bit more power out of rear deck lid speakers in a sedan. You could run the speaker wires right into the speaker level inputs then right back out to the speakers, then all you need is a small power wire, no remote wire or RCAs to run. Other ideal purposes probably would include upgrading a motorcycle system or other compact vehicles. A 4 channel version or two of these could also be great for tucking behind a head unit in a car, similar to the powerpack amplifiers Alpine sells. Yeah it's probably not that reliable at the end of the day honestly, but for 50 bucks it's definitely a really cool little amp to play around with. It sort of reminds me of those keychain amplifiers Steve at his meade916 channel was showing off recently.

Once again my man Big D killed another review. Keep doing reviews , it’s to bad you have to use “SMD” amp dyno ,

It will overheat in 5 seconds if you want it to. That's pretty cool they can pack that power into that! I probably wouldn't make a backpack stereo out of that cause it will probably light you on fire

Came here to say I bought this because of this video and it’s going in my racecar in a bit.
@GustavoGonzalez-vj4bn3 жыл бұрын
you have to feed it better with larger copper cables and more AH battery to extract all the power

I enjoy taramps products. Was hoping it would meet its rating. But still am quite surprised at the power to size ratio of it. Would work well powering my door speakers. Hmm, decisions decisions. Thanks for the video Big D. Was waiting for this one since your last video of that joke of an amp featured it at the end.

aww , you had me all excited at first after seeing the actuall size although it didn’t deliver its claims there still might be a place for that ? i am a Vintage Car Enthusiast /owner and Collector and one thing we do enjoy on those cars is having good sounds but often disguising the system to look period correct or hiding it out of sight one that small can be ideal for tucking it away under the Dashboard or inside of many interior components traditional Amplifiers don’t offer that versatility

DJ magic mike wow takes me back to 90's with all the boom bass boy was bad ass to

Awesome test and review - I hope Taramps addresses these issues, they've earned a reputation for output tolerances, and it would be a shame to see them throw that out the way-side

They are doing better stuff all the time

This is good for older Japanese cars or budget cars that dont have much space for wiring and speakers and amplifier spaces.

@@wal me too, I sell these amps and most all of the taramps line through Resilient Sounds and for the price, you cant beat it. I think they sound great together

It’s pretty bad ass for what it is, even tho it didn’t meet the manufacturer ratings.

I just had a great idea, I have an very old school boom box from early 80's, probably only about 5 watts per channel max, this would be awesome upgrade for it, so small plenty of room for that, just need to upgrade speakers too. and it be jamming :)
@wal4 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s impressive although overrated

Be decent for door speakers or deck speakers. Not pushing a lot, not expecting too much, so that might help keep it cool for longer use.

This is a Brazilian Amp, for no one knows reason, it is common here to double the RMS power in advertisement. They call it "musical program power", a kind of maximum "dynamic power" that the amp reaches in a specific useless scenario. So if you are buying a Brazillian AMP, they are not necessarely bad, but will likely have half the RMS Power advertised. 40W is not bad for a simple car door speaker, that is probably the market for it.

The effiency might be bad and the ratings don't hit where they are supposed to be, but this amp is a beast if compared with the Mitzu 😂 I would use the taramps for a bluetooth speaker
@haydenwiseman30564 жыл бұрын
yea that or for a stock radio to put behind the radio and give your speakers more power

My buddy once blew his Hifonics Colossus VIII and just plugged his cables into Cupid VIII. The subs sounded awesome on a 44 watts smps on 4 Audiobahn 1200q. This just reminds me of that little amp. Think the cupid has 2 irfz44s and a pair of tip35 and tip 36 for outputs.

those 4 Coils inside of that Amp Definitely Have Room to be made Bigger but hell it's quite impressive because of its size and it has to be affordable being a Taramps, So If it's In the $70 Area, then I'm game to buy one

The spec sheet lists the frequency response as 50hz-24000khz. Maybe a 1khz test would produce rated power?

The amp is based on what seems to be a tpa module not as said in the video on those small mosfets the tpa module is the big chip in the middle right of the board with the grey metal in the middle
@303nitzubishi44 жыл бұрын
Not bad power, an amp like that could be useful for many things, but definitely not car audio! The real winner here is the 80prs there are people who swear by those decks. I hope to get my hands on one in the near future
