Imagine, waking up, you have no more home or family suddenly. You are left behind, with no parting words or notes where to start. Your whole world just gone overnight. You wake up confused. Are they coming back? Should I wait here? Maybe they are gone for a day or two. I just cant imagine
@maiden4meldin693 жыл бұрын
I truly believe, that People should have to have a license to own a pet, then maybe theere would be a lot less animals left behind and neglected, some accountability to begin with. Training people to care for pets before they get them, understanding life spans, the medical possibilities, and even the costs of not spaying and neutering their pets. I believe we should have to have a course completed before one can adopt, or own any animals, Cats, Dogs, Gerbals, Hamsters, the whole animal pet gallery should be a licensed family or no pet for them.

Sometimes, just sitting down and talking gently to a lost or abandoned dog calms them enough to come forward. When I was 10, someone abandoned a small female terrier mix in our neighborhood. She had taken residence in a large Pampas Grass in our yard, but wouldn't come when called. I pilfered some hot dogs, and went and sat about 4 feet from the Pampas Grass. I broke the hot dogs into tiny pieces, and spoke to her gently as I tossed small pieces to her. I coaxed her from the shrub, and eventually held one piece in my hand. She stood stock still and stared at me for about 8 minutes, then went to her belly and crawled to me, and onto my lap. I had her until I was 19 years old, and she was the most loving and sweet little dog I ever had the privilege of bonding with. Oh how I miss my little Buffy.

Jay Gordon: One part of your comment is often overlooked when folks want to rescue a dog, especially a small breed: getting down on their level so that you don't come across like a huge monster. Almost as important is just stopping any movement on the rescuers part. I actually managed to rescue a small terrier myself by just stopping and sitting down on the curbing of a parking lot. Think of dogs like small children.

Same here! Her purpose was to have puppies only... the people who bought her were only seeking money and profits... her story; she almost died during her first pregnancy and the vet had to sterilized her. She was costing money and zero benefits to the previous owner, they had up to 10 Chihuahuas to feed without being licensed breeders and without counting the puppies... thankfully they had been stopped!She was only 2yo... my poor baby was traumatized, anxious and malnourished... Thanks god, we found each others. She is now 12yo and living her best Chihuahua life's :)

My husband and I rarely both leave our dog and he is never left alone but jic something happened, I mean we don’t have to get killed or anything, maybe just hospitalized, our boy knows those who will take care of him and has been to their home often. We have always had homes for emergencies for all the dogs we have had including when we have fostered dogs.
