We are making content for the same reason. To see Women represented through film. This series was amazing and I'm so glad you got to make it.

I'm in high school and making films through my school film program. . . I have to deal with "patriarchal brainwashed minds" all the time, so I loved this! And I definitely wanted to make films for the same reasons!

Just about everything you said in this BTS hit home for me, from talking about feeling too intimidated to be a director and wanting to make things that you would want your younger self to have grown up with. I enjoyed the micro series a lot, and I really appreciate all the inspiring work you're doing! Thank you for being such an awesome role model :')

Hey Yulin and anyone else out there that happens to be reading this! I could really use some advice. I've directed work before, but only ever by myself or with a small team I know personally. In a few days, I'll be directing my first film at university! I'm excited, but I don't feel like I'll be taken seriously. With the months coming up to this project, most of my group members haven't been treating me like a director. For example, my production designer/editor (he had to be pro. designer by default) thought that I was taking the production too seriously - I imagined the decor would reflect the character (I made mood boards and colour palettes and everything!), but he claimed we didn't need all that. Not to mention, he keeps mixing my name up with the only other girl on my team (just plain annoying)! My cinematographer said that he probably didn't need to look at my notes on shots and direction! What?! I'm the director, this isn't his film - it's OUR film. How could you not look at my notes. And my producer just comes across as incompetent. I've pretty much organised everything myself and I've been keeping track of dates and times and meetings. He's always asking me questions and sending the wrong information to people. He sent an email to our department to book equipment and he didn't even ask for any of the sound equipment! The only person that has taken me seriously is the only other girl on my team, who is in charge of sound. I just want this to go well and I don't feel confident in myself. My production designer/editor keeps saying that we only need to get 40% to pass, but I don't want to just pass! I want to show off my stuff! Sorry for rambling, but I'm desperate!
