Oh my goodness. I'm watching this with my mouth wide open, agog at how stunning this building is. I am in awe, totally and utterly in awe. It's just amazing, absolutely amazing.. I've only just started playing/building in Tiny Glade and if I can be just an ounce as good as this, I'd be happy. Holy Moly, it's sensational.🥰

Next level building! So creative. The devs have thought of everything, love the little birds nests on the nooks and crannies of the roofs. Your camera work is very cute too. Makes me want to go tour it IRL.

This is truly inspirational, seriously. People are coming up with some unbelievable creations. This is just another one of them. I am flabbergasted. It's amazing. By the way, I wonder if the developers [ in any future DLC] will introduce a Christmas theme. We could hang our baubles out on the balconies were they could glitter in the night. Christmas trees too would be great. As well as Christmas lights and different coloured tinsel.

not even halfway through the video this game switches from Tiny Glade to Assassin's Creed with all the break-ins and wall scaling 😂 this build is gorgeous! definitely got the game on my radar, seeing this potential when putting in the work. i saw in a previous reply you don't have the full build recorded, but do you remember how many hours/days it might've taken to make this whole environment?
@freakout35163 ай бұрын
That's kind of what I was going for! Wanted it to feel a little more like it was the PoV of an actual person, rather than a camera mounted 6 feet off the ground :D To answer the question: The cathedral took me 3-4 hours in its original iteration. Then 3 days of intense building for the vast majority of the city. Then I let it sit for a while and came back for revisions... perhaps another 2 or 3 days. Not working from morning til nightfall, of course. Probably not even 8 hours each day. But if you've ever gotten overly involved in a project and worked on it more or less day in and day out. That kind of experience for maybe 6 days total... That's the best guesstimate I can give you ^^ Which isn't much, admittedly but unfortunately I had stopped recording all my gameplay at that point. Devs fixed the game up too much so bugs were becoming too rare to justify the hard drive space :P

Do u have a video of u building the city? I'd love to watch it if that's the case.
@freakout35163 ай бұрын
Not of the entire process unfortunately! What I can offer you is three-fold: 3+ hours of unedited footage of me building the first version of that cathedral. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3OlaouVoNWta7c The same footage but sped up 16 times. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3XOaaagptOSZqM And a timelapse of the city's construction taken from one static angle. kzbin.info/www/bejne/imSye5KhqrN1pZo You obviously can't see a lot of what goes on from one angle. When I made the timelapse, I primarily wanted it for my own curiosity so I didn't bother with extra angles. It gives you a feeling for the process in any case. Not pictured in the timelapse are: Later revisions to the city which were a whole nother can of worms. Also anything that I undid. I made the timelapse by deleting the snapshot in my save files to force the game to step through the build history front to back in order to reconstruct the scene. As such only recorded inputs are recapped. Anything that I built but undid with Z is not featured. A proper timelapse of the actual process would be even longer but impossible to acquire, sadly. Hope that sates your hunger! Thank you!

This is INCREDIBLE!! 😍 Dare I ask how long it took you to build this? xD
@freakout35162 ай бұрын
My answer if you did dare to ask would be far from certain actually! The original church that the city is constructed around took almost 4 hours. I then revised it when I was freed from the demo circle's size restrictions. I know that the city wall took between 12-15 minutes per segment (I timed it becuase it was so mind-numbing) 24 segments by my last count so that's like 5 1/2 hours at least. Rounding up we're looking at 10 hours for the church and city walls alone.... Now I know that I built the entire city up over three days of very intense play.... then I spent another 3 or 4 days total revising the castle, revising the townhall, revising some of the streets slightly, re-rolling a metric ton of videos for more clutter in the roads... It took a while. I can offer you: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXfVgKtud8R7fZI ^ Timelapse. I didn't mean to make it but the game forced it on me. Recording starts after the church is already finished. But still pre-revision. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3OlaouVoNWta7c ^ Unedited church construction footage kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3XOaaagptOSZqM ^ The same footage but sped up 16x kzbin.info/www/bejne/imSye5KhqrN1pZo ^ An older timelapse which does include the church's construction but doesn't include the city revisions You can try and extrapolate from that how long it might've taken lol

What an amazing work! A newbie question: how to get handrails?
@freakout3516Ай бұрын
Hand rails are the default "flat roof" look for half-timbered buildings. So if you take the colour tool, switch a building to half-timbered and then lower the roof until it becomes flat, it should have railings around the rim. I got a video on basic controls where I show that as well in case something's still unclear Thanks!

@freakout35163 ай бұрын
I've wanted to do similar walks through some other builds. Maybe make a supercut out of them. I could also revisit the city at night if and when I do! I'll make note of it. As far as sharing is concerned: There's currently no built-in way to share your builds, no. No Steam Workshop integration. No "Export this build to a file" options. You *can* take the save folder and send it to somebody but the game lacks a proper "implementation" for sharing. Thanks!

How were you able to have such a big building area? I bought the full game but the building area is quite limited.
@ngwoo3 ай бұрын
This is the regular area. You can build much more than you first assume
@freakout35163 ай бұрын
Yeah, kind of as ngwoo said. It's a bit of an exercise in managing your space. If you use large blocks for your houses and have them separated by wide roads and gardens, you'll run out much quicker. Conversely if you try to keep the individual pieces small and stack them tightly, things can get quite dense and seem comparatively larger. Either way, I can assure you: my map's the same size as everybody elses

In the Camera mode - second icon from the right - there are different....camera modes (second icon from the *left*), the third one looks like a camera with legs. That's the one I used. You can hide the UI by pressing H. And in the Settings under Controls you can change the camera's movement speed if it feels a bit too much like a run. For this video I had it down at like ... 0.6?
