Amazing work, I’m curious what’s the benefit of the white boards in between concrete/cement layers?

Thanks! 🤗 They are for heat insulation. Keep heat inside, but primarily stop the cold from ground. We call it "polystyren" however not sure if it's same in English. We would like to have thicker layer of it(to keep our feet warm😁), but we couldn't add more because of building height limit.
