But the ones with the bypass get a whole lot more is that right?
@imjoshvАй бұрын
They still produce the same amount of spot free water, but you can make them last longer because you can use the bypass to use regular water for parts of your car wash and then switch to filtered water for your final rinse. If there is no bypass your using the filters the whole time. So even though the filters will produce the same amount of spot free water, you will be able to get more car wash's out of it because you control when you use it

The carbon filter is actually a good addition. It doesn't remove any desolved solids, but it does pull the chlorine out. Chlorine will eat up your resin and shorten the life. I've been running an inline RV carbon filter just to try and preserve the resin. I have high chlorine and around 500ppm of TDS. The resin be struggle'n in my garage.

Good to hear your experience on that! I know a carbon filter can really help the membrane on an RO system, but I wasnt sure if it really helps prevent break down on a DI system

Hey Josh, you probably already know this now, but as for the plumbing quirk, can be resolved if the initial install of the pressure washer you could avoid the funkiness by installing them side by side (filters on left & pressure washer on the right) and problem solved. 👍

I did add a carbon filter to prolong the life of the resin cartridges and overall love the performance of the system. The quality of the water drop DI system is stout. Highly recommend this set up.

Keav has a good youtube on carbon filter in front of the resin and how it extends the life of the resin. I bought a $400 Envig carshine 817 includes 2.6 gpm flow, bypass, tds, stainless etc and put a charcoal filter in front. It's incredible but not wall mountable but super cheap/easy resin replacement.

I like carbon because it remobes chlorine, and it's good for the resin to have the chlorine removed.
@dscarsella1Ай бұрын
Josh..the Carbon filter is for saving your DI resin which hates chlorine..want your di resin to last even longer Get a RO filter..flow is reduced so that's why you don't see it in most applications but a holding tank would fix that issue but much cheaper Di water setup longer term..
@CalihanАй бұрын
So carbon first, into an ro filter into a holding tank, then into the spotless. The holding tank needs to send water too tho, so unless it's really gravity fed are you using a pump on that or is the reduced flow when the water is actually moving enough to do that?
@dscarsella1Ай бұрын
@Calihan so there are many routes to get to a solution but the cheapest way would be source water to carbon filter to RO to holding tank with a Hudson float valve...then ideally you'd have a pressure washing capable of pulling it's own water so typically a bit higher end machines ar630, kranzle, active 2.0 and above....when you add RO to the system it drops water supply below what you would want to holding tank solves that issue...now your DI resin lasts a year instead of a month
@dscarsella1Ай бұрын
From RO to DI tank should be in there then to holding tank...sorry

I live down here in rosirito and my ppm is around 650 to as high as 720... I use the griot's single tank mixed bed deionizer. It recommends 13lbs of resin. My first round only lasted for 3 final rinses before it was already at 20ppm. So I added 2 more pounds of resin to the tank and the next round got me 20 final rinses before it went to 20ppm. Hard to believe that little bit of resin makes that much difference but it does I'm on my 6th round and the results are very consistent. So there is a tip to all you DIY people like me..

Great info. But the issue with the water supply depends where your source comes from. If it was on the opposite wall than there would be no need for all that pex piping.
@imjoshvАй бұрын
The water Inlet for the pressure washer is on the left so it would be nice if the outlet for for the filters was on the left as well. The water source I just ran a hose from to the inlet on the filters.. it’s really not too big of a deal just wanted to mention everything I noticed
@markhorn283022 күн бұрын
Josh no one is providing more useful content than you. Keep em coming! However I agree with the original comment here. If the water outlet was on the opposite wall, you could have run the source into the filters on the left, and instead of stacking the pressure washer above it, simply install it directly to the right and eliminate the excess pex piping. Not a big deal. It would just all depend on the individual’s situation.

why didn't you just flip the base of the filters where are they screw on if you want it the hose to be on your right instead of your left all had to do just take off all 12 screws from the bracket and flip the base it around.

@gtileoАй бұрын
@imjoshv I meant if you just spun the assembly around. So all the cartridges are in the same order but the mounting bracket is just in the opposite direction. The bypass piping would be in the front, but that's no big deal. The wires for the TDS meter can just be twisted a bit, no big deal.

From watching Keav's channel, the CR spotless bypass is a bad afterthought that barely puts out the minimum amount of flow. It's a 3/8 tube if i recall correctly. I have also not had an issue with my BigBoi pro, but its nowhere near the output they claim. Im getting about 2gpm at about 950 psi, but the amp draw is insanely low.

@imjoshv7 күн бұрын
The restriction on the bypass of the cr spotless is by design. If it has too much flow, the resin won’t have enough dwell time and won’t filter completely
