CORRINE!!!!! I AM A GARDENER AND I HAVE VERY IMPORTANT ADVICE!!! Go to your local nursery (like a proper plant place instead of just a garden center) and ask if there's any BLACK plants that do well where you are (where are you????) In plant speak "black" actually means a plant or flower that is very dark purple! There are a lot of these, but I live in Florida so what works for me probably won't for you. But they look SUPER GALAXY!!! Also look for snowbushes! They've got pink leaves! So you've still got pink when things aren't in bloom!!

Hi Corinne! Suntunias & Supertunias are great annuals that come in galaxy colors. Also Veronica, gayfeather, columbine, gaura, coral bells (all perennials). A good biannual is dianthus, aka sweet william. Other annuals that come in hot reds & pinks are hybrid geraniums, torenia, alyssum. Good luck!!! Jan

if you want large bulbs with a punch of flavor, you harvest before it flowers. but if you want to enjoy flowers, you could have ornamental garlic and harvest the smaller less flavorful bulbs after the blooms.

Hydrangeas would be amazing in the garden. They have a wide range of coloring, and a lot of times they can be a bit grey or muted, which would help bring out other vibrant flowers while filling up negative space

Get some blue Hydrangea, Blue anemone, Jye Dye Dendrobium Orchids(really recommend these they are both blue and purple and BEAUTIFUL), Cornflowers and Grape Hyacinth Muscari many of these are just a dark purplish blue flowers but recommend many of these if you can find them

I recommend using succulents to cover the soil, there are many cool colors like blue and purple that they come in. You don't really have to care for them, and they are super hardy and are commonly used in DIY projects. You can just snap off a few pieces, plant them in soil, give it a week and viola! A new plant will start growing. (Plus you can walk around the neighborhood like I do and rip off pieces of other people's succulents from their front yard to take home with me to plant and grow my own. Absolutely free) Just a suggestion though :)

I had jasmine. Jasmine needs a lot of room to grow and its high maintenence. It took over my fence and started taking over my neighbors and it can choke trees if you arent careful. If she is okay with pruning literally everyday and having a proper thing for it to climb on (because it is a vine and needs a lot of room to grow) the go for it. Also wasps and bees love jasmine so you might get an infestation and removing wasp nests arent fun.

For the Galaxy garden, get some black elephants ears, and purple ajuga. Both are very dark, and the ajuga is a perfect for a dark purple-blackish ground cover for under and around the shiny plants.

Purple cosmos would do really well in that sunny spot! Sweet potatoes would provide nice purple foliage and ground cover as well. Some purple coleus would also do well in the shade, but they like more water. Good luck Corinne!

I live really close to y’all and the best flower type would be the ones that attract hummingbirds and helps the bees. So hollyhocks, foxglove, lupine, columbines, and touch me nots. And all those come in multiple purples and pinks. They grow really well in our weather too!!!

Sedum Spirum for Corinne's Garden. It's a very hardy succulent, and in spring-summer it has a lovely vibrant hue. As it gets colder it turns red and purble. Back in the spring in flowers with red and purple flowers. It's lovely, and I grow it everywhere.

You should put thyme in your garden. It’s a really effective ground cover with purple/ pink flowers. And you can eat it. Catnip/catmint also grows beautifully. It’s light purple and blooms all of spring-fall. (as long as kitty is able to leave it alone, that is)

Night sky petunias a.k.a galaxy petunias are a perfect addition, just keep in mind that petunias are annuals so you'll have to plant them every spring. Definitely worth it as they are beautiful!
