It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book kzbin.infoUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.

covering the wood with a tarp would keep it dry. Well, I am always for covering my stuff, if I have to leave it outside. things last longer if not exposed to the elements. Old habit I learned growing up. Has served me well.

I noticed the big gap between bottom of your home and the ground. Use that snow to bank up against your home to completely cover that gap. It keeps the cold from seeping up from the floor and also keeps your floor warmer. I do this every winter and know it works from experience. 👍 Great video!
@STScott-qo4pw3 жыл бұрын
that was the first thing i noticed. even better? straw bales around it and tucked slightly beneath. then cover in plastic sheeting. add snow all winter long.
@krebgurfson57323 жыл бұрын
not really, you're right but for the wrong reasons. Using snow to trap air under the house is a good idea, it's how windows work. keeping air trapped means that the hot air can't rise up into the atmosphere, same applies for under this house.

I watch these when it is really not here in Turkey, I moved from England because I hated the dank grey days, and the frost, snow was occasional and truly hated. If I had more money I would be in the Canaries, 20 to 30 all year round, but I dont. So, a lot too hot in the Summer, a little too cold in the Winter, but for over six months in the year it is pretty perfect. I think videos such as this do make me cooler! Good luck and happiness to you both and your adorable dog.

Birch is fine for kindling, but you need oak, hard maple, cherry or ash to produce real heat. Also, as most people have said, you need to enclose the underside, even with straw Bales and you will heat that place much more efficiently. Also the generator shed will make that generator work better, easier and last far longer

It absolutely amazes me that people are made fun of for living in a trailer when I always thought a home is what you make of it. Beautiful job 👠
@K1ngAw3som33 жыл бұрын
Living in a trailer is simple and cheap. I’d especially love it if the trailer was away from society and not part of a larger community. Plus, trailer life being so cheap affords you more opportunity to have other nice things. The only people you need to impress are you and the ones you love. And you don’t even need to impress them because they love you for who you are already. Nothing wrong with living in a trailer. Nothing at all.

Hopefully I am not overstepping. 1st, run your generator for 5-10 minutes before you dump the oil. Makes it easier to drain. 2nd make your wood chunks bigger, they will burn longer. I'm not sure the size of the wood stove, and ifyou have access to hardwood, use that. It will burn longer. 3rd, put some hay bails or some sort of skirting around the bottom. I do applaud you guys for building a little cabin and out of the rat race.
