I brought home a kitten and he took to my pit, as well. He started nursing on my pit's big lips, and did so for 5 years until my pit passes away a few months back. It took a very long time for my cat to stop looking for him after he passed. It was very sad, but the memories of them together are precious.

My cat would also sleep with my dog a lot of times and they chill together, when my dog passed my cat was looking for him around the yard, funny interaction but honestly my dog was always okay with cats i've had just as well as the cats were not aggressive at him but rather slept together at night and they would only antagonize each other for food.

Gentle natured cats are the kind that are highly adaptable to their environment and thus can get along well with multiple cats and other pets. Even if a child touches them or hugs them, they are not likely to get angry and scratch them. However, just because they are gentle and don't get angry too much doesn't mean that you can't touch them all the time or pull on their ears or tail. Although they are not very angry, they may be stressed out, so it is important to play with them often or leave them alone

She mentioned that at day 4 'he still had mange on him and stuff'. So she knew it was mange and probably had bought some medicine for it and was applying it. For only a few days later the cat's skin is clearing up.

Wish more fosters and rescuers would utilize sleeping in same room as the rescued at LEAST the first few days. Showing them the dominant human can let their guard down a number of hours and really just put the animals at ease. Under-utilized :(

We found a kitten in a wheat field while walking.....we live out in the country, anyway, we brought "it" home and eventually introduced her to our female pit. Once our baby set the rules for the kitten....all was great! What was neat to me was that our cat acts like her mom...our pit. If you're holding her and look out the window and she sees something....she growls and or, no exaggeration if need be, she will scream, howl, etc., to sound the alarm. It's pretty neat. Unfortunately we lost our little girl (the pit) to cancer. It killed us all...just horrible. Our cat grieved I bet almost 2 yrs over that. They sure did form a bond with each other. Your story was outstanding and thank you for the memories!!!
