As a guy who was all in on Gold I sold half early 2017 and bought Bitcoin and just traded. Just look at previous recession data in 2001 and 2008. Like all markets, silver experienced an initial crash (though not nearly as bad as traditional stocks and real estate), followed by a surge to new highs. You can see silver significantly outperforming the stock market from late-2008 to 2011. Silver also outperforms stocks in months leading to a recession. In conclusion, if history repeats and a recession occurs 2025/2026, I’d rather be invested in silver and commodities than most other assets. Best to stay diversified with some cash on the side though.

Silver has been nothing but a disappointment for years, never living up to the expectations of its proponents. Even today with short supplies to the industrial users, the price doesn’t come close to reflect actual supply and demand. Stackers sit with heavy boxes of bullion that are difficult to secure, store and move year after year while the gold to silver ratio has gotten wider and wider. I’m glad I stuck with gold. F silver!
