Tiny Tip: Gel Printing with Punchinella

❤️ If you have been doing Gelli Printing for a while then you might have experience with Punchinella. For those of you who are new to Gelli printing then this will be exciting. Punchinella is a great way to get crisp circles or dotted textures in your prints. A big roll of it is not very expensive and will last you for many years.
What is Punchinella?
Sequin waste ribbon, also known as punchinella or sequin waste, is a material that is left over after sequins are punched out of it. It consists of a mesh-like, hole-filled strip that can be used for various crafting and decorative purposes. The ribbon comes in various colors and can be used in scrapbooking, stenciling, mixed media art, and other creative projects. Its unique texture and appearance make it a versatile and interesting element for adding visual interest and texture to craft projects.

I love using drywall tape, which is similar to this, only square instead of round. Costs about $7 for a good sized roll on Amazon. And now I have to get this, too. Thanks for the video!

Thank you for the video! I, too, have been looking for punchinella at a reasonable price. When I was a little girl, my father gave me a box of strung sequins - like necklaces looped over each other - and and miles and miles of punchinella, every color of the rainbow. There must have been thousands of sequins. The box was a gift from a friend who worked in the garment district in NYC. I used the sequins to make Christmas ornaments. Boy, if I had only known then to keep that box!

Great video. I bought some on Etsy. Three one-yard strips and each strip had a different size hole. It was very reasonably priced. However, I've not been successful with it on my gel plate. With that said, I cannot wait to give the punchinella another try. Thanks for this wonderful tutorial.

I love using Punchinella, had some in my stash from over 20 years ago, and shared it with my little group. I was lucky enough to find a large partial roll at my favorite local thrift store for a buck. Hadn't thought of cutting it, will definitely add that to my ideas. Thank you for the wonderful video!
