It's a satire of the song's meaning. And a brilliant one at that. Tress MacNellie considers this to be one of her personal favorite moments on the show.

I think the cartoonists misheard the lyrics towards the end. Aretha Franklin says, "Take care, TCB" as in 'Taking Care of Business'. But the cartoon shows people coming to, "Take out the TCP" of the word RESPECT. LOL

Wow, the memories. Rushing home from school, and making me a snack. Just to go crashing in front of the TV, until the evening news came on (5 p.m.). Tiny Toons followed by The Animaniacs, then Disney's Gargoyles. Those were when cartoons were good. Now days, they all just about look like Japanese Manga.

Tiny Toons ran from 1990-1993. Production stopped after Charlie Adler left the cast abruptly in 1992. Two specials aired in 1994 and '95, but the show had already been cancelled in '93. It had a very long and SUCCESSFUL syndicated run on Nickelodeon from September 1995 up until the Summer of 2003.

Tiny Toon Adventures ran from September 10,1990-May 24,1993. Episodes were in production for almost 3 years. The reason why it stopped because the PTC(like the PETA version of TV programming) had quite alot of influence back in the late 80s/early 90s. They had very poor sense of humor when TT satirized them. Amblin did produce 2 more TV specials for 1994 and 1995 though.

@TwistedSister09 Actually Tiny Toons was a very successful show and it ran for many years. In fact ask any kid from the 90's what shows they'd watch after school and this would be one of the top answers. And unlike shows to day Tiny Toons was mindless dripple afraid to poke a little fun at stuff just because it's not "PC".

+On Wednesdays we wear pink. I can't speak for everyone but some pet owners burry their dead pets in shoe boxes. Tiny Toons went the other way and had an actual shoe in the box which makes sense. As Thomas pointed out there the shoe had soul lol What better way to animate for that saxy solo than to have an old saxophone playing shoe!?

Hmm ironic that song was used in the blues brothers original movie as well ms Franklin she was the waitress funny she looked like queen latifah though darn weave Hmm that movies half RIP hmm think it be odd she did 🎵i say a lil prayer🎵 I'm still confused she wrote that or dionne warwick n they say she wrote that's wut friends are for 🤔❗❕‼️⁉️❓still not bas this wasn't the first cartoon too ever wait the proud family was second sorry oh motown
