I love your matter of fact positivity about a disappointing hole knowing you could smoke a 4 under on the front. Your videos are fantastic as they are pure and show even a really fine golfer can’t always tame a course that on the scorecard looks “easy”. Bowl shaped/turtle back greens kind of offset the shortness of some holes and drove me nuts during my rookie season after they started booking singles again in April. 1st hole tree blocking the green I forget about when worrying about getting sideways off the tee. The 2nd hole is a “layup” so I can either pitch into the water or juice it into the sand trap on the backside of the green. I now enter the water on the 3rd more often than I do when the same area comes into play on 18. I’ve actually fought the course to a draw on the dreadful 4th hole green. I’ve somehow birdied the 5th hole, but usually “try” for the green only to slice the ball up against the fence, bounce it across Heil or overcompensate and hook it into the trees left because the fairways are kind of tight. 6th hole is a reasonable par 5 if you keep the tee shot from steering right around the living rooms of the apartments setting up hitting off wood chips to get back in the fairway. Finest moment was making par on both the 7th and 8th with a yellow range ball that stayed dry on both holes. Yes, hitting a yellow ball short left on the 7th is an Easter egg hunt. 9th hole begins that uphill/downhill action that is encountered several times on the back nine. Yet to hurt anybody near the clubhouse with the long uphill approach shots. I think I played the early bird back 9 about 25 times this year. Full rounds or just the front 9 around 11 times. 1st year golfer so nice challenge at a reasonable length. This (my hometown course) and Mesa Linda are my go to Par 70s. Both offer something different as I blow well past 70 before slowing down in the mid to upper 90s.

Thank you for the kind words and insight! These little courses are kind of my Achilles Heel, but hey, golf is golf!

The course I learned golf on, Bacon Park in Savannah, GA, has a 280 par 4 full water carry like the 2nd hole.......it was the bane of my existence for YEARS!! It ended up being my 7 iron and wedge when I gave up driving the green.
@TerminatorGolf3 жыл бұрын
some of these holes it just doesn't make sense to try...even with a long iron!

Played there last week right before the storm hit SoCal and I'm not sure if my wedges were just off or if the greens were extra firm from the chillier weather but I couldn't get anything to stick. Made for a long day for me haha

So great to see this one. This is my everyday course and I've had so many people think they're going to overpower it when they come out. Those people leave shooting 80+ and completely frustrated. Small and sloped greens expose peoples short game and approach shots as well. Really fun course that makes you play a little bit of every shot in the bag.

That's a great little course. I love a thinking mans course. But it would test my patience with those greens!!!!!!!

It’s so difficult to throttle back on a short course like this, but it’s soooo necessary sometimes!

@@TerminatorGolf Short difficult courses is my speciality. I don't enjoy long slogs no matter how wide they are. Do you find it boring to hit irons off the tee?
@TerminatorGolf3 жыл бұрын
@@thehairygolfer it really depends to be honest. Driver is obviously my favorite (and most confident) club off the tee....but it can get me into spots i just shouldn't be. I've been better recently, but when I was younger I certainly hit Driver way way too often when it was unnecessary.

@@TerminatorGolf I love driving. I used to try and knock the cover off the ball. Made plenty of birds with it but too many bogies. I play a bit more boring now but that is age catching up a bit. My plan is to get fitter next year and drop 14 pounds I don't need! Enjoy being young as much as you can! Stay thin!

Great golf vlog brother...do you film your drone shots on a different day than the day you play the course ? I use to love this place especially number 10 after the turn.

I lived off Bolsa Chica and Heil for years, went back recently and was amazed at how good Meadowlark is looking these days, love that course. But why must it always take 5 hours to get around there?? It’s a short par 70 course but POP is worse than 99% of the courses I play haha

POP is bad at all courses like this…just the way of the world unfortunately
