In this video Ronald Kanne (woodturner in the Netherlands) makes a triangular vase in spalted beech. The block of wood is turned round and then turned over 3 axes. This leads to a vase that has a triangle at the top...

Very clever with a pleasing result....what we have come to expect from the witty wood turner in the Netherlands. BTW - I find Lies verbal contributions to be entertaining and complementary to your sense of humor.

Gday Ronald & Lies, I found your Channel just recently after turning wood for 25 years now. Yor approach is very profie like if I may say so. Allow me a comment to PARTING OFF: The step you doing at 32.39, I do already at 30.40 that saves me "re chucking". what do you think? Cheers

Hi Ronald, Lies! I was wondering when a new release of your video’s would surface, and here we are! I sort off figured you were a straight guy, and I’m glad we have sorted that! Not that I’m against any other orientation at all, but hey, it is nice to have some background! Thanks for sharing this video, it yet sparkled my imagination and I put such an project on my -too long- todo-list. I reckon you can make variations as well. Widen the circle where you put your 3 eccentric holes in it, or even have 4 or 6 (or 7 or thirteen as prime numbers to make it completely unnessesary challenging to calculate the right distance between the point :-) ) points on that circle. Hmm, interesting thoughts. Keep them coming and have a great day! Cheers, __Frank

Dankjewel Ronald voor deze bijzondere creatie. Komt zeker op mijn 'To Make' lijst. Overigens, de Midi Pro die ik bij jou kocht is een mooie en erg goede machine. Ik heb er al diverse kunstige items op gemaakt en ben er heel blij mee. Take care and happy turning.

hello, i recently found your channel while looking at coring videos. Im really enjoying your demonstrations! Ive been "liking" as i see them. i also just subscribed. i have a question not much related to this video, i think you might be qualified to answer! Im going to upgrade the banjo on my Laguna 18/36. The machine is pretty nice but the banjos are known to be subpar. most commonly people replace with the Oneway banjo. ive recently found out that a Robust banjo is also compatable. Which banjo do you prefer? Thanks for the great videos! Aaron- Fresh AIr Woodshop- Kansas

Hi Aaron, thank you for your kind words. Regarding to the banjo i can say that i work with them both. I also have a Oneway 2436. But i can't say that i like one more than the other. If i had to choose i would chose on price and/or availability...

@@ronaldkanne I lived in Soesterberg for a few years. I really do miss it. The people were so nice and friendly. And I love the accent with the females! ( if u know what I mean) The only thing I didn't like about my stay there was the weather. Never enough sun. Thanks for the reply. And keep up the awesome job!
