Someone in Europe did a double-decker city bus conversion. All the steps in construction are shown, along with some humorous comments. The results are awesome. The video is here on KZbin. The family put out a whole series of their adventures on the road to follow.
@anthonyburkett21465 жыл бұрын
@@adinahirschmann3112 Thank you!! I'll take a look see. I've often considered a double-decker bus as a conversion, but they're awfully hard to find here in the states... and those that I've seen approach cost prohibitive... along the lines of my original comment... I found Chris's videos of his bus's conversation... they're AWSOME!! ... kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2PZpoOEo5d5fdE ... as well as his home page for further info and classes... skooliecentral.com/
@geraldhenrickson74725 жыл бұрын
I spent several years building a conversion before the advent of KZbin. I am still living in it today and have altered/update/changes almost everything. Whereas I would be interested in doing a thought-provoking inquiry-generating walk-through of my bus...that would be my limit. BTW...The earlier International bus with the DT466/Allison drivetrain is a great starting point. Very reliable and you can get good mpg for such a huge vehicle. Perhaps one of the favorite buses among professional school bus drivers from what I can determine.

Great idea with the elevator bed, but this is only working with a raised roof.I really love this idea, but as I'm converting a school bus in Germany, I will never receive certification from authorities for driving on german roads with a Skoolie and a raised roof. So for me in Germany a dream but for you guys in US this is awesome. Greetings form Germany Wolfgang
@tdholman5 жыл бұрын
You don't need a raised roof. You could put a desk or play area for children underneath an elevator bed in a regular roof skoolie. but for $800 dollars in winches I think I would build a murphy bed instead.

🙋 this is a OUTSTANDING renovation... It looks like a professional builder and interior decorator job. Alot of condensed decisions to keep storage sufficientl yet design considerate is well thought out... You both have access to spend real time with your children... That is a cultural and personal deficit in the time we live in. I'm sure your parents and friends are proud of you both... Best wishes for your complete home... I only have one recommendation being - When you present to the public, I'd edit the chatter during the presentation....

Nice video, too long but nice. I LOVE the regular, double pane windows! After living in everything from a goose neck to a tiny house, the most important aspects, to me, are the windows and INSULATION!!! Having bad arthritis, 66 years old, drafty windows and inadequate insulation have been my worst nightmares. I recommend to all to use spray foam for insulation and the best windows you can buy, not necessarily afford, just the BEST. You'll know what I mean when you sit on the toilet and the window behind you actually blows your hair on cold winter days and nights. Spay foam plus indoor and outside paneling gives you 5-6 inches of insulation, for a tiny house, and keeps the cold and heat under control. Insulating the floor would be a great plus too! Enjoy your travels and those kids!

I love your decor through out the bus, but I really love your bathroom very tastefully done. Kudos to you girl. 👍✋ P.s. I have learned a mazing tip for keeping mold away..... We bought all kinds of gadgets and nothing worked.
