It' nice how the children's beds are long enough so that they can still use them comfortably when they grow. A lot of other builds have the kids' beds looking kind of cramped. Great job!

We wanted to build a couple of cubbies in their beds when we first designed them but now the extra space is great. It also makes story time better for us when we climb into their beds. And they are big enough to have a guest sleep in them and the littlest crashes in our king bed.

@@slacmd last October we finished the battery and turned it all on. The battery is doing great. We have done about 35 cycles and this battery will do 3500 cycles then start dropping. We currently use only 80% of the battery

wooow! This was one of the best videos about living on wheels because you're so honest when you talk and you think about a lot that is important to include in the video. Beautiful build! I love your parenting ideas. I grew up playing outside on a farm. I learned to work hard we had a wood stove that heat the house. I remember stacking chord after chord of wood. I thought everyone’s gardens were an acre big lol. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

What an Awesome, Stunning, Carefully Thought Out Aesthetics of a Bus. I think one of the nicest Conversions I've seen. It looks so Spacious & Light. I love the fact that you thought so much about your children before yourselves. So many people doing conversions pile 3 children on top of each other or other stuffy sleep places, which angers me no end. I love the fact that you have cut out a portion of the bed sides for ventilation as well as allowing your children to feel connected with their surroundings (how about giving them each a little window??) Honestly I love how your children came 1st, I love the kitchen, bathroom/bath. You have thought of everything so well, there is nothing I would change. Did I miss you insulating the skoolie & heating & cooling, systems, or haven't you done any? You are right children do learn a lot more playing outside & travelling to new places. thanks! Derek worked so hard to build us the perfect bus! it was a lot of thinking! LOL, Our children definitely came first in all the designs. We thought of a window but I said no because the windows get really hot (we are always in a warm climate) so I wanted their bed to stay cool. I'm very happy I made this decision. We did insulate the bus but they didn't show it on the tour. We have a diesel heater under the kitchen seat and we also have a space heater. We are about to install a mini split in our bedroom (you can see the white lines on top of our bed in the tour, we installed the lines before buying the mini split.) Never underestimate learning through play. Also see why they need to learn certain things. I home educated my three kiddos and until doing lessons at local market did my eldest realise the benefit of learning math. Life skills are more important than logarithms . Lovely spacious kitchen ,and well thought out conversion! Above all you two have shown love and consideration in your children's sleeping arrangements... unlike some who have large comfortable rooms to themselves while their poor children are made to sleep in claustrophobic bunk beds like rats..disgusting to say the least!!! I would recommend starlink to anyone! you can bring it to your cabin, or to anywhere you want to go. it's super fast and worth every penny. Our address is still in New Mexico and we are roaming in Baja Mexico!

That power system is insane. I built a battery out of the same type of cells that he did, but only have about 1/4 the storage and still feel like it's plenty. 7.3 kwh is more than what most people have, and he built 28 kwh 🤯

Haha, ya... I really enjoyed being one of the buses plugged into SunnytheSkoolie's power grid. At one point we plugged in multiple buses over night at normal use to see if we could ever kill their batteries... Nope.

It's not overkill, we spent 3 weeks in Oregon with no sunshine and the battery was way down to 45%.

Your children are lovely, and what a fantastic childhood you and your wife are providing them! I’m about to move into a vintage Shasta Motorhome RV, and I’m struggling trying to figuring out my solar system needs. Do you have a post where you go over all the parts you put into your system … # of panels, # & type of batteries, size of inverter, do you have a fuse box, etc? I’m in need of done basic guidance. I have a great installer lined up, but in need to order all the parts & pieces. I’d like to have more battery power than I need so I can cook, use my kitchen appliances for, run my AC, etc. without ever worrying about my batteries running down. I’m in Tucson, Arizona where the sun is abundant, but I hope to travel. Thanks so much for any guidance you can provide ! 🥰

@@suzannevetek1450 hey, we don't have a specific post but you could DM us with questions and will point you in the right direction. First figure out your biggest power consuming appliance and then figure out how long you want to run it. Ours is our AC. We run it all night when it's hot.
