First time I laughed out loud watching these videos which I discovered a few days ago. I love this couple. Can mixture them old together in rocking chairs. So down to earth. Thank you for helping me relax. I am moving from 900 sq ft two bedroom Apt to a studio in two weeks. Always figured my four kids would have to dismantle this place. I have crates and bags everywhere. They did a great job in six months. Stay as lighthearted as you appear today. Thank you for all the smiles.

I've read a lot of peoples' comments and they all say what I was going to say. You two are amazing, very smart, creative and industrious, as well as so smart with your money. How you did what you did for the $8K is unbelievable. You get an A+ in my books. And besides all that, it is so obvious that you were raised right and that you totally respect each other. That will go a long ways in your marriage. SO glad I saw your video!

Very cool. I want a skoolie. My suggestions are concerning the dogs. In the bed area you might consider replacing one of the beds with a lower orthopedic bed for your older dog. I lost my old girl a few years ago, but toward the end her big soft bed was hard for her to get out of and having arthritis myself now I can definitely say a firmer mattress causes less pain. I got her a thin memory foam bed and put it beside her big "comfy bed" and she used the thinner one without fail. The other thing is concerning the underbed area. It is awesome and a good idea but you might want to put an emergency exit where you have the laundry basket. A dog size door with wire and a solid door that can be closed over it. You could have better airflow for the dogs if needed, and still close it off to minimize noise. If they are wet or muddy you can load them into their area without them tracking through the house, and in an emergency, you can take them out of their area through the emergency exit.

I LOVE, LOVE the ideas and the repurposing of anything for anything. My style of living too !!! I hate that you've hit, even cut your head hitting that lamp over the sofa. Hopefully you've changed it out to a flat lighting. I listened to the things that caused issues for ya... I'm sure you've figured out solutions by now, but food for thought that I was having while listening is : * For the fridge to not tip over during drives... Brace it in. Even if it's just nailing a board across the top front above the freezer from one side board to the other. A tipping fridge has to be annoying. * Lay the plastic tumbler down on its side that keeps falling off the top storage 👍 * I have too add.... The amount of spices vs the amount of shoes was cute. From me, someone who has been married almost 30 yrs now... that's just one of them things you know just is what it is and learn to let it be, lol. (I love my shoes and hand bags. I understand. My husband is the spice guy. So, we understand 😁) I am loving that garage space !!! For this to be your 1st build, I never would have guessed. There's enough room in there for bicycles... And/or even a Mopad. I watched where a couple had a Mopad so when they are parked, they used the Mopad to travel to nearby places they needed or wanted to go to (not having to always use the bus). I really LOVE the vintage wood you got from your grandmother. Great conversation piece and looks amazing in the bus... And the pallet wood too !! Being this was the 1st bus y'all have built, I sure would love to see y'all repurpose more. Your ideas and ways of being crafty and building LOW cost is inspiring. Maybe finding people who want a Skoolie without building themselves and keeping it low cost is something y'all could get into. In any state, and City, there's always junk yards, Goodwill's, habitat for humanity and people who are building contractors that could hook you up with places to go or people to talk to for wood and/or supplies. Find people who want a Skoolie : Just get an idea of a layout they want and things important to them and a total cost they can afford and begin there. Explain the battery power info, the water info and all the things needed like that and go for it. Y'all just have the knack and I'm gonna check out more of your videos. This is an older video, so I'm not even sure that you'll read this message. Hope you do and if so, pls respond so I'll know. Happy Travels !!!! Be safe !! 👍

Nothing free about being sponsored. They send 100s of emails trying to get sponsored. They turned their bus into a billboard on wheels and drive all over the place on their own dime attending conventions as per the sponsorship agreement. I'd rather pay the $5000 out of pocket than having to deal with all that. Or you know, get a $300 genie at harbour freight and call it good.
@chavvy9074
@chavvy9074 4 жыл бұрын

@@chavvy9074 Not sure what you're trying to accomplish with your comment. You just elaborated that sponsorship requires effort, compared it to a job and therefor it ain't free money. Okay with the 7.3 TURBO altitude is not depriving your engine of oxygen. It's more likely just climbing those hills. But the mileage you stated is pretty darn awesome for that big a rig. My F350 has that motor and gets 12 pulling a 21.5' fifth wheel (7,800 miles, Oregon to Pennsylvania to S Carolina to New Orleans to Kansas City to Oregon). My 40' schoolie (which will replace the F350 and trailer when completed) will make me happy with 8mpg at 31,800 GVWR

I imagine that could be a simple economical fix since the Shelf already has that little lip on it to keep those baskets or bins in place also the fridge it seems like probably pretty inexpensive land simply they could come up with a wax so that the door doesn't open no matter how full it is... just a thought :) good luck! thanks for sharing!

Your floor is cool. We put that in our Class C. Looks like wood. Most people don’t know it’s vinyl.

Leslie O'Brien yea we have met a lot of other tiny homes on the road and a lot of them also have the same flooring! Can’t beat the real look of wood for a cheap price!

You might consider trading (if possible, maybe through Craig's list) your refrigerator for a trucker's freezer. You can put your milk, etc., on the top layer to prevent freezing. On the coldest night's, you could turn it off to save on electricity. Also, it might be quieter turned off over night. Some people (living off the grid) use this type of freezer more as a refrigerator. They can adjust the freezer setting to the lowest number to use more as a refrigerator. Also, it would be easier to strap in, or build a frame around, so it would stay still when you have to slam on the breaks. Your dogs might like Milk Bone Dog Buscuits, both the 'old fashioned' and the new recipe called 'dental chews.' Maybe if you type in your P.O. Box, someone nice (a shout out to philanthropists out there) will mail you boxes for your three dogs. It is tough to find dog food that they will like. The company 'royal canin' has breed specific canned wet food. My dogs will eat it and no other brand. I hope you have a big bowl of water for the older one, he looks really hot. The channel 'RV Lifestyle' interviewed the co owner of the company 'nomoredirtywater.com' about a small water cleaner using ozone. He says it can clean almost any water, especially for RV water storage tanks that can grow mold. He believes all camp ground water is not trustworthy, even most homes and apartments could benefit from this ozone machine, water cleaner. He says it makes water taste and smell better too. He and his co owner want to sell about 7 billion machines at the lowest price possible. They designed it to be small and lightweight, about 30 pounds and about 20 by 20 inches. I like the sign on your bus promoting solar panels. No offense, but all the art work kind of distracts from that. Maybe you could own and operate a gallery/cafe/laudromat that is all dog friendly and devoted to people on the road. You could also show films from an old fashioned class room screen (to save on space, one that can easily slide up and down in a small space). You could serve popcorn to attract customers.You might duplicate this gallery/cafe/laundromat in every city you stop in and make it a 'co-op' with as many other people as possible (locals) helping to pay the bills. You might get parents and teenagers to use it as an after school meeting place for book clubs, home work tutoring, watching movies together on Friday and Saturday night. Space on shelves could be reserved for 'second hand books for sale' as a fundraiser. Check out the channel of a Mississippi retired dog catcher that swears by 'BARF' Biologically Appropriate Raw Food, talapia frozen fish. It breeds quickly and will help save tuna and salmon, dolphins and whales, from going extinct. The talapia must be frozen at least three weeks to kill any possible worms. He thinks that dogs and cats eating the entire talapia, bones and all, keep their digestion process healthier than commercial pet food, especially in older dogs and cats. Ideally, every household should copy this process; sell or donate the talapia fish they don't use. For example, they could donate to all the local food banks and animal shelters, and similar pet rescue organizations. Dedicated chefs could sell 'fish and chips' in cafes, restaurants, or food trucks. All the above are ideas for everyone living on the road, or off the grid. P.S. Those bones might be freaking out your dogs. They would probably rather be looking at photos of themselves. August 20, 2018

The continued "bouncing" effect after a dip usually comes from the bouncing seat and your foot. Remove your foot from the gas for a few seconds and it will stop...
