Tiny House Family! 2 Babies, & a Great Dane (Mom Built It)!

Two and a half years ago Macy Miller moved into her self-designed and self-built 196 square foot tiny house in Boise, Idaho, with her partner, James, and a great dane puppy, Denver. But a lot has changed since then. . .

Over the past few years, their family has grown exponentially - and I'm not just talking about Denver gaining 140 pounds! Macy and James have welcomed daughter, Hazel, and their newborn son, Miles, into the tiny house, but not before adding on an additional living space. Originally the house had an attached covered patio, but they recently enclosed the space to create a shared bedroom for their children.
In this tour, Macy tells us about living in a tiny house with children and speaks about plans for the future. Hazel (18 months) gives us a tour of her new bedroom, which she will one day share with her brother.
At the time of filming this tour, Macy was nine months pregnant. Her son, Miles, was since born on October 1st, 2015. Today the "Mini Motives" tiny house is 232 square feet and accommodates two adults, two babies and a great dane!

The hell with all those naysayers about the different siding of the addition. I love that design feature! Same thing for all the "not for tiny house accessories" like the 4-burner stove; the large shower; and, OMG, drywall. Good for Maci for building what SHE wanted and not what the industry says is acceptable. It's beautiful!

Beautiful home. Tiny houses can be whatever the owner wants them to be - low cost, eco friendly, portable, luxurious hand-crafted space etc. This is great example of what can be done. Think the architect trained eye for design and good use of space really shows in this one. Amazing what can be achieved.

So 606 DOJ, what did you do? I got the cottage. A 640 sq ft 1930 and gutted it. Retiring to it when done in another yr and RVing during the winter at that point. Taxes $912 a year.

Great Tiny House! I would add 2 or 3 small shelves in the kids room for more storage options. Loved the idea of actual furniture verses built ins. So much more cozy. Love the white clean look too.

That little one that was in my belly is 4.5 now. We did cosleep until he was weaned and now he gets the bottom bunk. The big one gets the top (shes 6 now). Its still working out great! Elianne Wallenius Probably the fear of the little one opening the door and going outside at night (which I'm sure the mom has already thought of and put some type of lock on the door) also intruders easily breaking the large glass on the door and going in and the little one being the first thing they see... or them even taking the little one... the list can go on for me but I'm just a super worrisome mom lol! I'm sure they've thought of it all when designing the room though.

LOVE this house!!!!! I genuinely love the bunk beds as I've seen people put little kids in sleeping lofts on the opposite side of the home, which scares me. Actually, sleeping lofts usually scare me as they are not much bigger than a coffin usually.

Very pretty house. I really like the white and the bedroom that’s a good height. I like the separation between the bedroom with what looked to be white shutters. It gave a very warm feeling. That shower is fantastic’ The lights in the large kitchen you & your brothers made make the home so special.
