I watched a show on hoarding. The helper/therapist had the homeowner use a marker to divide a blank sheet of paper into four quadrants. They then wrote one word in each of the four quadrant. 1, Keep. 2, Donate. 3, Trash. 4, Not Sure. It helped the hoarder overcome their uncertainty by allowing them to decide what category in which to place each of their items.

@@NotAnAngryLesbian Yes! Great idea! I personally had my own method and even after living in this tiny house for 1.5 years I still purge, declutter and downsize because I still have that hoarder mindset. I have to constantly train myself to let things go. But I'm getting better! :)

I remember being in my apartment and whenever anyone was over and getting something out of my cabinets they would slam them shut and all you could hear was a loud pop each time of the wood banging into the cabinet. These are so much quieter and easier. Not many guests go in them though...lol. I still love them!

Ok this, this is my favorite tiny house that I've ever seen. There is just enough room for everything and there is so much smart storage and everything for the cats like the vent for the litter box area is genius! I love the look and the feel of it, so amazing

Thanks a bunch for the compliments! It took a lot of planning for all that storage. I am an impulsive person so I didnt want to just go with first ideas. I used notebooks and planned the entire things out and it worked!! :)

Yes!! And her office space would be perfect for a ground level bedroom. I could actually see my teenage daughter and me living in this space with our cats and not feeling claustrophobic! There's just enough space for everything without having a ton of extra stuff, and without having to take 20 minutes to dig out every little thing to use for the day! (Which is often why I've found tiny homes so impractical- it's hard to constantly move everything just to live.) This is hands down the best design I've seen!

Thank you! Most of that "Stuff" you see is my office stuff. I sell it but because I Love crystals and sold most of my own I displayed them on the outside to look at. I don't feel cluttered in the house, just that office is cluttered ;)

Thank you very much! Unfortunately the water system is being removed and refunded by the builder. It was an unperfected water system that caused a lot of problems and was admittedly put on the market too soon. The builder has since discontinued selling them.

Anyone who says you paid too much for a custom designed, brand-new fully functional house on wheels is full of it. RVs cost more than 100K new, and you've got something so much better.

I wish there was regulations allowing tiny homes lots/tiny homes community in the cities. So many ppl would be or on their way to be debt free. Many ppl are house poor and the way things are going many more will be rent poor too! These rents are getting insane!

I agree with you there! One of the reasons tiny houses fall into a gray area is because people think there isnt much money to be made in terms of taxes, rent, utilities, etc. But we still shop at their towns stores and stimulate the economy that way!

I love tiny houses on wheels. What's upsetting to me as a urban planner is that most cities don't allow them to be parked within their boundaries in the Western world. I also think the rent you have to pay ($600) is too expensive. The RV industry also is refusing to label most of these buildings as RVs so they can't park at mobile home parks. If I went tiny, I'd definitely buy my own parcel of land, add solar and a rainwater system so no one could try to control me.

Yea, finding parking can be tough! Thank goodness there are so many resources to find legal places. Plus, tiny houses are gaining recognition as full time living so hopefully parking places see that as no big deal that RV isnt attached to the name. I'm not RVIA certified and I'm in a campground. But I agree the rules and regulations are a bit crazy.

Her cat totally stole the show, he's awesome :) and I love this house! I can't believe that she was worried he would fall.. so what if he did fall? Cats can jump/fall from a lot higher than that and be fine. My one friend had a third story balcony and every time her male went into heat he would find a way out there and fling himself down to the ground three stories below without a scratch. The cat in this video has a lot of sass you can see it in his face when she takes his picture on the railing lol.

Thanks! It's actually no longer rainwater system. The water reclamation system didnt work correctly so I had it bypassed by a plumber and can switch back should I choose to. Now I use sewer and campground water and I have no regrets! :)

My pleasure! I felt it was important to provide space for the cats seeing as I stripped them away from a 900 sq ft apartment. I'm actually still making changes to make it easier living for them! I bought outside tents, am going to build an outdoor cat patio, and am putting steps on the wall vertically so they have the space to run jump and play. I honestly think the cats, well Rocky, likes this house better because he can act more like a cat and climb on things. The catwalk, the railings, the ladder, stairs, etc. I even read a comment where someone mentioned building a porch screen to have the cats go out on! I thought that was brilliant!

Love your layout. Your accommodations for the cats are terrific especially the catwalk. Like your windows, The utility storage in the rear seems efficient. Solar would be nice is you can manage it. Like your home very much and wish you well.

This has got to be by far my favorite tiny house I have seen. It has so much space, and I live the idea of the kitty litter area. I would love to have this tiny house because of all of the special rooms, and space. I think it would be a struggle for me to get into a composting toilet but after time it wouldn’t be to bad. I moved out of my 2 bedroom apt for financial reasons, and then spent $116/month to store the furniture and stuff I couldn't sell. Here I am 9 months later preparing to move to CT, and room at my daughters. My goal? She's letting me live rent free so O can save $$$/mo for a mini school bus, and convert it into my own home. Hats off to Jen! and the whole timy living community!

The rain catch system is super cool. Very self sufficient tiny! I love the movement but probably see myself with a larger sq ft tiny house or combination of two of them. I would want a separate or add-on large living room entertaining area. Hosting large get togethers is somewhat sacrificed with tiny houses. While downsizing is nice, communities also need places to gather in many homes.

Such great points!! I have a video that I did on 10 Things I would do differently and having a better living area is one of them. My guests often feel cramped on my couch with a 2 inch cushion. They sit on the carpeted stairs or on the floor. Not much room. I'm looking to purchase a real couch for that area and put that couch bed storage thing in the garage or on my deck when I have one built. Thanks so much for watching! :)

Wow! I love how she took control of herself and said enough is enough. She knows what she needs to be satisfied, content and safe. She seems to be in an RV park, and that would def have its own issues with privacy and transient points of view, but unfortunately the world is not quite ready to support people making these choices, there is not enough community space for tiny houses, but its coming. I admire the sacrifices she's made and wish her the best.

It's like being in a community but these people have RV's. I'm the only tiny house here. I trust that in the near future, tiny houses will be accepted just like regular houses!! I have watched most of these tiny home videos and I have to say this was one of the most enjoyable! Jen is a very sweet gal and has got all her "things" down to a science.. and done it wonderfully! Kudos to her... LOVE her "HOME". Many years of Blessings to you Jen and of course your cats. I've got 3 and have created a dream home for them! They have their own kitty gym.. an 8 x 10 room with bridges platforms, hammocks and pole to get up there.

Yours is my favorite house I've seen, most tiny homers are bloggers, sports people, or online workers. And most don't have belongings. So it nice to see a house that, is like no I have a fridge, and multiple cabinets for food. I also really loved that you had a whole space for work since, I'm an artist too, an my house is FULL of art supplies. Though I'm waiting for a day I find a house that has pull down ceiling cabinets. Like in Japanese kitchens.

I love this so much! As a cat person and tiny house enthusiast it really gets me excited to see that with more than one cat, it's possible to create a space in a tiny home where your cats can still feel like that have a safe space of their own. I know cats love being up high too so I love to see their cat walk and loft space above the rest of the home. Also, with the ladder and stairs they are still able get exercise. Romeo developed bad hip arthritis so he was having trouble getting up and down the stairs but I put a litter box upstairs and food and water in the beginning so he didnt have to go downstairs. I took him to the vet and he has pain meds now so he's been handling the stairs quite well. I was afraid of them not getting enough exercise but you are correct, they have vertical space to climb up and stairs to go up. Rocky still manages to run around the house even if it's running down the catwalk. :) I cant wait until you get your own tiny house!! :D

Tiny Dreamer I’m so happy to hear that Romeo is doing better on the pain meds. It’s always awesome to have a space where the litter box is out of the way, but if you love cats, I’ve found it’s a small price to pay to have a box out if it makes it easier for them. Plus, there are some great litters out there and if it’s kept clean it doesn’t have to smell or even be noticed by anyone. As far as the exercise, I live in an apartment but still have much more space than in a tiny home, and my cats still don’t use the space other than to go from place to place finding new spots to sleep or where the sun in shining in. 😂 So, a bigger amount of space doesn’t necessarily mean they get more exercise. You’ve done a beautiful job creating amazing space for you and your cats and it just flows so nicely. The other feature that is great for the kitties is the number of windows there are for them to look out. It’s perfect! I have definitely saved this video in my favorites to be able to revisit when I am designing my tiny home one day. 😊😺

Thank you so much! I've since given back the water reclamation system as it didnt work too well and needed a lot of maintenance. It wasnt even perfected by the builder so they also discontinued it. One day I'd like to have another system to go off grid...that and switch from electric to solar! :)
