I've been subbed, and watching, for a few months now & the one big take away I have is that you 2 are way too hard on yourselves. I have seen many videos where you apologize for not knowing everything, not getting enough done, having slow paced videos etc. So I wanted to say that I'd suggest you take a second, and reconcile just how HUGE your project/s actually are. You are doing things most people simply can't. And the fact that it may not all come together in the most "Insta fabulous" manner is not relevant. You & Your fam are living a great series of adventures and not destroying yourselves in the process. All of this is inspiring, and connecting thousands of other people and at the end of all of this, you'll have an actual home, that you are truly invested in. How is that not a great life? Take care of yourselves, and keep doing the things! :)

They look amazing! Shelter Logic should be paying you for upgrading their crappy tarp products with a brilliant "hack"! They'll definitely be a solid structure now. Maybe one day, when you're bored 😉, you can bag over the tin roofs and make them solid AND cool inside! The cats have a luxury apartment, now, too. 😊

Hold on Shelter Logic makes a pretty good product and they have provided warranty replacements. Its just the harsh dessert weather that does not help.

I just moved to Cochise County 3 months ago. I also bought two 12' x 20' ShelterLogic buildings. Within a few weeks, one went belly-up...looked like a turtle stuck on its back...lol. The wind here in unforgiving! I am trying to go 'off-grid'. It is challenging for sure. Especially since I am a 56 yr old single woman doing it all by myself. But I am going to win!! Thank you for all your inspiring videos. I have learned a lot and you have given me great ideas!

I lived in Hereford for 21 years, I love all the familiar foliage, the thorns on the mesquite and the century plant. The elements can be pretty strong, unless you live there, you’d never guess the strength of the wind and rain, especially during monsoon. Those mountains with the afternoon sun, sigh. Miss that, especially the patches of aspen trees turning gold in the fall.

If you had bought a pre built building of any kind you still would have had the electrical cost, so looks like to me, you made the correct choice. I ran across your videos last week and have been playing catch up starting from the time you found the property and started the buying process. Playing skip around a bit but thoroughly enjoying the videos. So sorry for your loss, my heart hurts for you. I was totally in love with that boy

If you want to screw in the augers quicker get one of the bits that they sell for portable fish shacks. They chuck up in your drill and are designed for screwing in the ice anchors. You just have to modify the opening a bit wider to fit the size of the anchors. Use an electric drill ( preferably 3/4 ) and hang on tight so you don’t break your arm if it hits a rock. Love the video. I’m going to do the metal to mine when it quits snowing. Liked and subscribed.
