Ouch seems to really know this matchup well. He's not really falling for a lot of the revenge shenanigans and was punishing Incinroar's lackluster recovery really well. This might be the most I've ever seen Skyjay struggle, getting 0-deathed multiple times.

Skyjay looked so predictable, you could tell ouch was purposefully baiting a lot of revenges outta him. Some patience would’ve gone a long way

He looked tilted in the last stock of game 4 reset. Rare to see him lose composure, but it showed in his play too. Ouch was playing out of his mind to be fair, great patience and kept pushing his advantage state without giving Sky any time to breathe. Those fastfall tomahawk grabs that could've functioned as an auto cancel bair in reaction to an aggressive option were beautiful neutral play, and he kept getting those grabs by calling out Sky's fairly predictable options, he lost multiple stocks by sideB-ing directly into Ouch's fsmash coming off ledge. If that happens once you stop doing it and reassess your neutral; it's a sign you're being read like a book. Even when Sky did mix it up though, Ouch seemed to always have a reaction to catch it, part of that is wolf as a character being a great all-rounder in neutral, advantage, and ledgetrapping, but it's also Ouch for having the technical ability and reactions to pull that stuff off in reset finals. Sky didn't look his best in grands, but he got there on winner's side for a reason; he's the world's best Incin, with one of the world's best mindsets that will allow him to learn from his mistakes in these sets. Sometimes you just get Better Player'd.

Lucina isn’t there either the characters a good for regular gamers but against top tiers and top tiers piloted by top tier players you need to stay at the top of the top apparently

Eventually we will see wolf at top level again, if we see formerly irrelevant characters like mario Luigi olimar and even banjo at super majors now it's a matter of time before we get a good wolf player. I'm hoping we get a top Japanese wolf sometime in the future.

As a Wolf main I was noticing Ouch never uses Up Smash. Literally the only up smash he threw out in Set 1 was the set-winning kill. Shows how players are always aware of all their options and don’t show their hand. I also notice he never uses blaster, which makes sense against Incin who can use Revenge. In set 1, Ouch shot 1 blaster randomly and Skyjay shielded it. Top players always ready and aware of both their own and the opponents’ options at any moment

The way incineroar just brings back a game in 2 hits feels so busted seeing it within the context of a high stakes game. Ouch can hit him 20 times and he needs a single revenge hit to even the board.

@@prodwysp he faces the current meta better than wolf. Where wolf has to win 5 interactions on average for a kill, incineroar has to win two. Even Skyjay himself said Incineroar's slept on. Wolf doesn't have that random kill factor to win tournament, hence him falling off, it's also why Palu and Lucina don't shine either (and why Proto favored MinMin over Lucina before retiring)

Other than crown which was a while ago, Ouch has had better results and has been way more consistent. He's the best wolf rn imo.

As an Incin main, this matchup sucks. wolf can just kind of weave in and out of incins burst range really well. Yes you have to be very percise, but if you are, this matchup is like 7-3 in wolfs favor.
