As a competitive tennis player, i was taught to never start a point with a high heart rate. Coach told me to breathe but not how. This really helps. Takes at least 4-5 deep breaths like this woman as instructed. Works great! Thank you!!

Can I ask for your opinion? On Wednesday night I suffered high heart rate and breathing was all over the place. Basically I smoked a spliff aka cannabis but that wasn’t the problem as when I went back inside I open my tumble dryer door that was operating and the heat just blew right in my face I went to step outside and boom it started from there. I’ve been hospitalised 2x and the doctors have basically gone off that I’ve smoked cannabis and not the actual fact I had heat blown right into my face!!! So because of that they’ve put me on anxiety meds making me feel like absolute crap now mentally. It has F all to do with my anxiety I don’t suffer anxiety although I did in the past like 2-3 yrs ago but I was taught by my mental health team how to cope with it. I cope with anxiety or stressful situations with breathing techniques but I’m just now more frustrated that I’ve been put on mental health meds and not any respiratory meds or nothing as this is the problem my respiratory system feels like absolute crap and now I’m on the anxiety meds they’ve made me somewhat spaced out and not helped with my chest at all… so now I’m dealing with a messed up head and a messed up respiratory system. I had a esg, blood test and chest x ray 2x and they tried telling me nothings wrong then when I’d go to the doctor at the end of all that they’d lecture me about cannabis like I’ve been smoking for 6 years not consistently but yep 6 yrs and he basically said you can’t handle your weed, here’s some anxiety meds. I’m ashamed of this. I feel like I’ve been scammed by my doctor or something. I am going to get another opinion from a different doctor tomorrow because all the 1s I’ve seen are not even from my country (not that I have a problem with that) but what I do have problem with is not getting the right care. NHS UK btw I know it’s a free health service but just wow 😢

My blood pressure is only 108/65 but somehow my heart rate is always between 95-110 and I don’t know why and how. I eat healthy and walk 2 hours everyday.

It sounds like you're taking proactive steps to maintain your health with regular exercise and a healthy diet, which is fantastic! However, if you're experiencing a consistently elevated heart rate despite these efforts, it might be worth discussing with a healthcare professional. They can help identify any underlying causes and provide appropriate guidance. Keep up with your healthy lifestyle choices, take care!

Forgive me but I feel like people go straight into this breathing stuff that I feel doesn't really work ... What about people with a dysregulated nervous system aka dysautonomia... Breathing is gonna fix that ?
@parrpt
@parrpt 9 ай бұрын
Of course! There are many other factors that are related to dysregulated nervous system but this is a good place to start. Breathing helps tap into your parasympathetic systems which helps the body calm the nervous system to be more regulated. There are a series of other exercises that can help that are more specific on a case by case basis. We will be posting more about other exercises that can compliment this one!

I'm sorry to hear that deep breathing exacerbates your symptoms. While deep breathing exercises can be helpful for many people in managing stress and anxiety, it's important to recognize that everyone's experience is unique. If deep breathing exacerbates your symptoms, it may be worth exploring alternative relaxation techniques or discussing this with a healthcare professional. They may be able to provide guidance tailored to your specific needs and help you find strategies that work better for you!
