Would buy this in a heartbeat if my country allowed it. It is the answer to all the problems I have with a 10-22, namely the fact that on a 10-22 in order to clean the barrel with a bristle brush (as opposed to just a bore snake), you have to not only disassemble the action from the stock, which means the tension on your action screw is gone and that is a major factor in accuracy with 10-22's... but you also have to remove the actual barrel (unless you get an after-market receiver that has a hole drilled out the back to allow for a cleaning rod). Whereas this rifle only needs a pin to be pushed out of the way to access everything and without any effect on accuracy after re-assembly. I don't know how accurate this is once it's been tricked out with a lighter trigger and good optics and suitable ammo is fed into it, but I can't imagine it'd be worst than a 10-22 and I can get clover leafs all day with mine, it's just the cleaning process is a pain in the butt. Hopefully one day common sense will return to my country and I can enjoy this, so be thankful all you have to do is switch out a few parts.

Nice review. I have just purchased my Tippmann Elite L. Could you tell me if it's possible to remove the front hinge pin. The one on mine has a small pin which sits in a groove on the pivot pin that stops me removing it. Also with mine it doesn't like American Eagle 40 grain in standard velocity. It jams on every other round. Runs flawlessly with Blazer 40 grains though.

Apparently the early models had aluminium charging handles and were prone to breaking. I wish someone would produce an aftermarket one.

They've changed up their lineup a bit since this was published. This is aluminium receivers with a poly handguard.

@@Gruntreviews yes! The Tippman m4 22 rifles are the top tier of m4 22 rifles. The way they are built and perform is second to none! Well worth the extra cash to buy one of these over the S&W 15/22 if you can afford it. Buy once, cry once and the difference in price isn’t all that hateful. Good video 👍

In the older models, no. The newer ones are coming AR trigger compatible to my understanding. I haven't gotten my hands on one to confirm.

Thank you for the 2 Tippmann reviews. Two questions for you. You mention (in the pistol review) that you wish the dust cover was aluminium or steel. Can you confirm it’s plastic? Every review I’ve seen or read states that the only plastic parts are the stock, charging handle and hand guard (on the Elite the handguard is aluminium). If it is plastic I’ll order a steel one for my incoming rifle. Also, I’ve seen reports about bad casting of the receiver. Grates , bubbles and imperfections in the metal. Especially on the inside of the receiver. Is this something you’ve noticed?

On the pistol, there's a slight casting imperfection on the lower, external right by the trigger guard. Nothing internal. Dust cover is polymer, as in the charging handle.

I would not recommend purchasing this firearm due to the poor customer service experience. I recently purchased this firearm and the red dot would not fit. I sent the rifle back to Tippmann in order for them to either replace the upper receiver or “mill” the upper receiver so my red dot mount would fit. Tippmann has now had possession of my firearm for close to one month and now learn I will need to wait until other jobs for new guns are completed first. I was told when I first made the call to Tippmann that it would only take 2 weeks turnaround for the repairs. Every time I contact the representative at Tippmann, he promises to call me back, but never does. I wish Tippmann would just return my money.
