Why does one need to pull the charging handle backward before firing? What would happen if the charging handle is not pulled backward before firing?

If you have an overly heavy drive spring it will just blow air down the barrel and wont charge the chamber. You got to rack it to shoot anyhow.

My tippman magazines (all four of them) do not push balls up into the firing chamber regularly. If I load less than 19 balls it doesn’t feed anything. And sometimes the magazines randomly don’t feed balls. Did o get four bad magazines??

There is a chance the winder is bound up inside. You must wind the magazine before loading. There are some really good youtube videos of servicing the Tippmann mags. It would be worth while to open them up and see whats going on. Honestly these mags are new to me so i dont have any experience yet with problems.

Loosen top back screw to get charging handle to work properly

Thank you for the tip. Either that screw loosened itself or me cocking it over and over it gave up its strong hold and let me win.
