Could you please thro' some l ight on " Greenways Road "- nomenclature- Now the Govt. has broken that one word into two separate words and translated it into verbal translation as " பசுமை வழிச் சாலை" -- தவறான மொழிபெயர்ப்பு நீங்கள் தான் இதை திருத்த முற்பட வேண்டும். உங்களால் முடியும்

Wow, excellent! Sir, any comments on changing names of roads in Madras? Why cant the authorities concerned leave the old names as is and preserve history. Can you please impress upon the current administration regarding this please?
@prakaashj54852 жыл бұрын
They view it as unwanted English names. But the truth is even the name Madras is not an English name. Madras - derived from 'Madrasapattinam' a tamil fishing village which thrived centuries before the entry of British is certainly not an European or English name. It's a tamil name while chennai derived from 'chennapattnam' is actually a telugu name, chenna means good or fair in telugu while there is no word called chennai in tamil lexicon. The city name should be reversed back to Madras & correct the historical mistake. The name 'Madras' is dying & fading away with year after year as most of us referring it to as chennai. Kindly start an online platform to bring people together for the name change. #backtoMadras.

Amazing discourse on Cenotaph road. I stayed at Cenotaph road between 1996 to 2004 during school days and college. I always wondered what would have been this Cenotaph for and how it would have been as an end to Teynampet vicinity and start of Nandanam. I had neighbours mentioning the place being allocated for a tomb. But post watching this video a question for 25 years has been solved. The picture brings a closure to me.

Great information Mr. Sriram. I would like a few clarifications for the queries listed below: 1) Did Lord Cornwallis govern in Penang as there is a fort on his name. 2) Were the 2 sons of Tipu Sultan returned to him and under what conditions. 3) how did they transport these heavy statues from one place to another. Was it human labor or Mechanical labor. Thank you in advance
@MuthuKumar-gx3dg2 жыл бұрын
3) He already mentioned that there is no history recorded as to how these transportations were done. Mechanical labour?! I think you are referring to cranes! Diesel engines and electric motors were not invented in 1805. Pulleys, winches and rope systems would have been used... in a way mechanical.
