I’m a hairdresser and 99.9% don’t know as much as you! Is a year ft or 1/2 pt for 2 in Ohio! If your one of those states, like Ohio all you have to do is pay to practice in another state! Ohio and a handful of others are harder states to get licensed, but I started in my 40’s and passed the State board on my first try, you’re a lot younger! You are gorgeous and probably already have a client base!!! I don’t know your career, but if you got your license you could do a lot part time because I can tell you love it. Thanks for the video it was awesome!

Wow Kristi thank you! That was SO nice! I've been doing hair since I was 16 so yes I have experience but no license! I'm moving to Missouri soon, so I wonder what their licensing laws are? 🤔 You've given me lots to think about! I'm going to be doing another video this weekend (I always feel so awkward but hope it helps people!). ❤️

@Tamara_AOA6 жыл бұрын
That might be a challenge. I would just say LOTS of hair and LOTS of layers. I have very thin, fine hair and I still ended up using about 300 grams of hair which is a TON. Make sure you are using the sandwich method and not a single side method. Also use a brick-laying pattern so the rows are overlapping well. Good luck!!!

Incredible job! And btw, you are absolutely stunning... both with short and long hair! Since you clearly know what you’re doing, can I get your opinion? I have fine, thick hair that is naturally dirty blonde level 7. I have a lot of blonde highlights with straight across bangs. The bangs are pretty heavy but they don’t look heavy since my hair is fine. Still they go back fairly far (not just a thin amount of hair). I went to a new salon this last time and the stylist either used a developer that was too strong or overlapped the bleach because most of my bangs have snapped off. I also have a lot of breakage near my temples and all over the top layer of my hair. It’s not a good look. I can blend the top pieces well enough and put extensions on the sides to fill it out but the bangs look terrible. They are very short and choppy. Is it possible to add extensions in bangs? As I mentioned before, they start pretty far back so I think I I’d be able to hide the tracks. What are your thoughts? Have you ever done this or seen it done well before? Thank you so much!
@Tamara_AOA6 жыл бұрын
Hi Marissa! Thank you for your sweet compliment... it really made my day! ♥️ And uggghhh... "chemical" haircuts are the worst! I have never done extensions in front/straight bangs, but if you've got enough hair that it would work - then - it should work! You would only need a few pieces but you'd probably want to use the single sided method. You can get Babe hair tape-in's in 14".... But that the shortest they come, so obviously you'd have to cut them waaaay down. You would need to purchase single sided tapes by Babe as well. Then, instead of sandwiching your own hair in between two extension pieces, your hair would be sandwiched in between the extension piece and another piece of tape. I think otherwise it would look way too heavy. Another idea is to purchase clip in bangs until yours grow out from the breakage. Good luck!!! 💕

Tamara Simon thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I'm honestly completely traumatized- I have never had an issue like this before and I didn't realize how much I identified with my hair. The single side is a good idea I think k I'm going to go that route. The clip in bangs I've seen in the past are just way too think and obvious for my first day hair. Thanks for your help fingers crossed!

@Tamara_AOA3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! A couple of other people have already asked that question so I went back and checked my answer from 2 years ago (because I don't remember! 🙈) I said it was about 80, which is 8 bags of Babe Tape-in's, making 40 "sandwiches" of hair. I believe some were 14" and the rest were 18". Good luck!!

I have really been thinking about trying tape ins but the hair in the front is to my shoulders and the back is to the base of my neck. Do you have any suggestions?
@Tamara_AOA6 жыл бұрын
Lots of hair extensions, lots of layers, and start the back pieces as high up as you possibly can without them being seen! You won't need quite as much hair in the front. The first back layer of hair (besides your own) should be the same length as the front of your hair. OR... You can add a shorter layer in the front that matches your own hair in the back. It's possible! Good luck!

How long can tape extensions be on hair, can it be used again several times on the hair, will it hold on the hair without falling off and can it make hair worn?
@Tamara_AOA3 жыл бұрын
Usually the tape ins need to be removed and reapplied closer to the root every 6 weeks or so. Once I remove them, I peel the old tapes off and put on new, sticky ones. I buy the new tapes from Amazon. Just like with any hair extensions, they can damage your hair if they aren't applied properly, or taken care of properly, and you especially need to take care when removing them so they don't pull out your own hair! That being said - they are still my favorite kind of extensions. ❤️

@Tamara_AOA4 жыл бұрын
Hi there! I'm not sure what you mean by "box"? How many grams are you talking about? I think I put about 180 grams in my hair that day. I needed a ton because my own hair was so short! I used 18", 16", 14" and 12" to create all the layers needed to blend with my short hair. Good luck!

@Tamara_AOA5 жыл бұрын
I typically use about 60 -80 pieces - which is 6-8 bags of hair through Babe, which is my favorite. This means I will have between 30-40 "sandwiches" of hair extensions all over my head.
@christinetodd14835 жыл бұрын
did you use different length extensions?
@Tamara_AOA5 жыл бұрын
Yes I did! I love Babe hair extensions, and their tape ins come in 14", 18" and 22". Depending on how long I want my hair, and how many layers I want to put in it, I will typically use all 3 lengths, as well as cut some "in-between" like I'll cut some of the 22" to 20" and I"ll cut some of the 18" to 16", etc. Layers, layers, layers are the key to blending!!

@Tamara_AOA5 жыл бұрын
Oh no, Erin! Are they tape in? You can reposition them yourself! Buy some new clear tape off Amazon (I use these www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BF31ESI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and then take your own out using coconut oil and a hair dryer (that's how I do it). If they are all in the back, simply take a few out here and there where it won't be noticable. After they are out, pull off the used tape (that now has coconut oil on it) and wash them. Add the new tape and then decide where you want to place them in the front. It's really so easy! Good luck!!!
