Lonewolf that can vary day to day depending on moon storms and other factors but normally like 4 feet or so

That’s an absolutely great fishery. Don’t hesitate to fish it from the bank as well. Up by Hopewell where the Appomattox river joins the James there is a big area for bank fishermen that is in a great fishing area.

When fishing shallow, where should I look? close to deep water, top of ledges, coves off main River, flats adjacent to the river ledges?

So I look in a couple different areas for instance the backs of creeks and flats close to deeper water.

Do you have experience with fresh bluegill as bait? Specifically for Blue cats? I know Flatheads love them.

I do use them from time to time but honestly don’t have the confidence in them for blue cats like I do shad mooneye or Skipjack.
