This is a dream plant! If I had a pile of cash I'd be all over this right now. Hopefully in time they'll be available at 'husband won't murder me' prices
@ryanspencer67785 ай бұрын
I've been hoping for that for almost 10 years. Maybe eventually they'll come down to hamate prices, but I think it'll be a while before that happens.

It all Depends on the Clone you have. Yes edwardsiana IS much more forgiving and can stand Higher day temps. I havent found macrophylla to be nearly as sensitive as villosa. Very slow growing ofc. But villosa is a true ultrahighland

For these highlanders folks with a nice sunny south-facing window in places like Maine, Minnesota, etc all the cold U.S. states and most of Canada, perfect

I have a baby hamata growing on a windowsill and it’s going really good but I’ve heard edwardsiana is way more finicky do you have one growing on your window?

(The only reason I'm asking my question here is because I kept getting an error message when trying to submit my question via the store site. Apologies for the inconvenient placing.) I've been looking at your store site and I'm on the email list for a couple plants but I'm also looking for a Drosera Paleacea (Giant Pygmy Sundew). Do you carry them at all (the site currently only shows 3 pygmy drosera of other types) or should I look elsewhere? Really looking forward to ordering the other plants when they come in again though!

Thank you for letting me know that you e been getting an error message on our website, I’m sorry about that! We may have a few more Pygmy drosera this year but no paleacea this year.

Hi guys thanks for sharing, would you say that Eddys are more or less forgiving than hamatas? What about the amazing hybrid between the two of them?
@California_Carnivores5 ай бұрын
They’re about the same! Hamatas can be a little easier to grow but they both will really take a long time to bounce back from any negative environmental impact - they hold a grudge 😂

Great info I’m new to these kinds of plants but very interested in looking into one or more but I’m in miss and not sure what plant would be best for my climate or should I just do inside plants but the more I watch y’all the more I’m learning thanks again for your time in doing this and it’s sad that so many became non existing from poaching or clear cutting

Quick question: Why do some of your stuff on your website like bromeliads, don’t even sell bromeliads?
@Brian-qn2mx5 ай бұрын
They do I bought one from them before it was the Brocchinia reducta they just remove it off the website when they don’t have them I guess

We don’t always have everything in stock as there is such a huge variety of plants so we keep some listings up when out of stock if we think we’ll have more in stock in the next six months or take the listings down if they’ll be a while 😊

Would lóve to keep the toothy highlanders, but realistically, I doubt they will do very well in my house. The biggest problem, for most inside growers, I'd wager, is the temperature drops. Even though I have a 'Nepenthes-room', just opening a window would likely not suffice, let alone forgetting to open/close it daily. The attic should do great outside of summer, but during the summer it is an oven there. Anyone growing these guys inside? Is there a way to do it without breaking the bank?
@California_Carnivores5 ай бұрын
It depends a lot on your natural environment, in our area it naturally drops that much at night always so our houses easily drop down too

In my experience eddy hates being fertilised, mine was growing fine and strong and then It came to me, I fertilise every 2 weeks with a liquid seaweed based fertiliser and when I used it on eddy it decreased in leaf size, slowed right down and stopped pitchering 😢 Its alive by all means but hasn't grown any new pitchers in God knows how long!
