Great tutorial on this, simple, quick and CHEAP! I've fletched my own arrows for years, but haven't tried using wraps, although I do like the looks of them. Question though, I'm going to assume that the wrap doesn't stay when you replace the occasional fletching, and what type of glue are you using that doesn't affect the wraps or does it make a difference? I've been using Dap Rapid Fuse lately because it sets up quickly and the feathers stay stuck longer. Thanks!

You are correct. When you replace the fletching you also replace the wrap. I have video on how to replace the wraps quick and easy. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eX_QdouegbqmrM0 I use fletchtite platinum on my feathers that are mounted on wraps. most any arrow glue will work great on them.

Hi Jason, love the videos, and your arrow build. Have you ever taken a bareshaft with a wrap(s), that's been tuned perfectly and shot it side by side the exact same bareshaft build without the wrap to see how much they affect the spine? You've mentioned before that 500's are light for your bow weight and equated it to the shorter arrow and the double brass insert (my arrows are 26" so I can relate), but I'm wondering if the wraps play any significant role in it as well. Seems to me they would have to affect it, especially in the area where the wraps overlap. Any thoughts? Thanks. - Nova Scotia

Never tested it to be sure. I bare shaft with the wrap on. Will have to try that experiment next time I build arrows

I know this might be a somewhat stupid question but to bot be stupid myself I'll ask anyway... what is the purpose of a wrap anyway ... looks ,function?
@SamkoTradBow5 жыл бұрын
No such thing as a stupid question! And this question is a great one as most people dont understand the real value of a wrap. The benefit is visibility in different situations. When you shoot an animal the feathers will darken up due to blood but the wrap stays bright and easy to see. The wrap visibility helps with hit location identification, finding arrows in the leaves, etc. Yes, many do wraps to customize and for looks. But for me it's all about visibility and helping me see where I hit, find the arrows, etc.
