Hello my name is Andreas economopoulos and I would recommend anybody else especially who have disabilities like me to watch your video on how to properly adjust straps so that your recording is comfortable on you no matter what your disability or wait or back problem is and of course for me and those with disabilities I probably would go for those last straps that you showed that they come in two parts one for the top and one for the bottom around the back thank you very much.

Goddammit,Charlie........to think I did not play the box during 9 years.Well...initially I did not make any thoughts about that and finally took to the instrument again. Well..... it turned out to be a surprising in the wrong sense.I had totally lost my contact with the key end.My right hand felt,as had it grown far too long,so let alone my direct contact with the keys. And after playing 20 minutes......oohhhh,my back and my neck.!!!!! Must admit...I wore 2 pullovers due to the continuous cold weahter,so the sleeves were somewhat pressing and yes...that has influence on the straps, although I have bound them exactly the same way you are showing here, and as I always did. And with regard to the instrument itself? It has never been for long time in the case, but despite......one of the bass cords does not close instantly. I hope it will be due to the string you can bend it,so ist does not touch undesired passages on its way.And...of course......regular use again, might solve such problems? Bellows are okay, but the treble reeds need some more pressure than the middle an low part.But...all of the key notes function.Well, what's your advice?

Good to hear you are playing again. I'm not sure about the sticking bass note. If you can open up the bass end plate and check if there's an obstruction, debris, spiders webs, dust, rust etc. Check the wood has not warped, along the guid rail and on the bass plate. Maybe the treble reeds will loosen up with playing again. Maybe if not played for a decade the leathers are stiff, I can only guess. See how you get on. If there's no improvement get it checked by a repair shop, or perhaps a new instrument depending what you have there. Too many jumpers on will make it difficult to play right enough. 😅

@@CharlieAbel Thanks,Charlie.Guid rail is my suspicion indeed. The source of many troubles..I once had this trouble in one of my previous instruments.But..after lots of playing things were getting okay again. Now,let's hope for the same! The treble keys haven't become sluggisch,I still can fast repeat all of the keys.with change of fingers

Thanks Charlie. My 120 bass Hohner Bravo has some real crazy straps on it. It is new and comes with fabric straps made from terylene or something. Quite awful really. Where can I get the straps you are showing please? I am in Australia and I do not think there are many accordeon shops out here. Pete.

Hi, I just bought accordion straps from Ron Pearce music in South Australia. You can find them online. I hope this helps.

Hello, I need help figuring out what to do before I buy a set of straps. I was gifted an accordion that only comes with a single leather strap. The strap is old and cracked, and it's thin without any padding. I noticed in every video I watch everyone uses two straps, and the bracket that holds the straps is a double bracket or has enough space to fit both straps, but my accordion only has a single bracket which looks like it won't fit more than one strap. Is there an adapter that I can use to connect two straps to a single bracket? Or do I have to take my accordion to a shop so they can customize it with a double bracket? I should note that I know nothing about accordions and want to learn how to play it, but I want to make sure I do it correctly. The single strap feels very uncomfortable and it's hard to hold the accordion in place, unless I sit down and rest it on my lap.

Some accordions have a single bracket for 2 straps. If not you can buy brackets and fit them if you are comfortable working on the accordion. It’s likely you’ll be able to fit 2 straps to your single bracket in most cases I imagine. Strap ends like the ones in my video are about 18mm wide. Without seeing your accordion I can’t really tell. If you can send me a picture I can tell you 👍🏻

Ah, now I see your photos, some Diatonic instruments, like the Corona or some Irish melodeons are often played with one strap off the shoulder. There’s no harm in fitting an extra bracket if you are more comfortable in using two straps. I guess it’s up to player preference.
