I got 2015 at 130k km (80k miles) stage 2 for 2 years now and yet i got no problem. Turbo still fine ,sunroof works flawless. The only major problem that i have is the manifold intake which i did last week. And cleaned the carbon also. And until now car is may daily drive. Drive like 150km a day. And car runs like new. I love my car.

I have all of those in my 2015 performance pack, I have PDC, sunroof, reverse camera, factory xenon, headlight washer, LED tail lights, DDC, 169kw, leather heated seats.

My 2016 is great. I picked it just because the Infotainment was updated over the 2015. Wouldn't mind having the power package but I don't really miss it. Plus, I don't have the scratchy piano black interior found in newer models.

The performance pack doesn’t come with the led fog lights which kinda sucks. It just has plastic covers over the slots

My 2015 Gti SE had a backup camera, I don't know why you are saying they didn't come with one. I also had a sunroof, which ran flawlessly for the entire time I owned the car. The only problem I ever encountered was carbon buildup which got blasted off. In fact my 2015 was so reliable and I liked it so much I traded it in for a 2019 SE.

You actually can replace the OEM HID units with "aftermarket" headlights. OSRAM makes a very nice full LED headlight with two versions to replace either halogen or HID assemblies. I have them on my car and they are absolutely amazing, they far outperform the OEM lighting package. The only downside to them is that they are expensive $1100+, takes about 4 months to ship from Germany, and the install is a bit of a pita. A small price to pay for a headlight that way outperforms the OEM units and makes the car look so much more modern. OEM headlights look dated to me.

Sorry to say that but I don't take this video much seriously. At the first place you're saying DO NOT BUY MK7 GTI 2015 but few moment's later you're saying it's okay because the car is 8 years old by now and most likely it already has the turbo replaced if it wasn't sleeping in the garage, and the other thing is you can buy any car, but if anyone has been driving it wrong without letting engine to heat up a bit before driving it like crazy and then cool off a bit you're most likely going to make turbo replacement as well soon. And about the USB I don't know how about U.S.A. but I have got 2014 GTI MK7 and it has normal USB-A, it has rear parking camera and the cornering lights.

Why did you not make this video before the summer, I just got my mk7 2017 authoban last August and I had a big problem with my sunroof I lost the car for almost one month to repare it just after I bought the car and guess what they did nothing for me because It was on warranty

@@LucasHuang haha I'm just messing but you're right, they added stuff in 16 where I was like "aww man" like the upgraded infotainment and stuff. That said, I've got a 2 door and it's way harder to find late model year 2 doors. They stopped production in 2017 I think so 2016 really is the best year if you want one and prefer the 2 door.

It doesn't make sense, cause since 2013 the mk7 gti has been coming with sunroof and I don't know if the cars of vw you get are made in USA, we receive European spec VWs

U r just talking about you bad experience.I have a GTI mk7 performance package and has a lot of futures what some 2017 do not have.I have my GTI with unitronic stage 2 with stock turbo,stock cluch for a year and everything is fine I love my GTI I don’t ask for more.I can retrofit whatever I what to my GTI.

@@diegogolfhotel no, we get European spec GTI and reverse camera, sunroof, front and rear PDC, park assist, cruise control, adaptive chassis, high beam headlights, led taillights, leather heated seats, santiago rims, folding mirrors etc etc are all standard options on the GTIs we receive in South Africa cause it's European spec... The gti is USA are cheaply made and the stuff we receive as standard are extras to you, thats the difference

I bought my 2016 gti with like 95k miles and I’m thinking about doing a couple of mods on it. But someone told me that I shouldn’t because of the higher mileage. Should I just say f it and get mods or should I just leave it stock.

People usually don’t wanna mod because of warranty. In your case you don’t even have anything to lose at 95k+ miles

Incorrect, my mk7.5 farts. The MY18 comes with the 6 speed, which still farts. The MY19 onwards comes with the 7 speed, which is why they don't fart.
