Priceless! “If you think you cannot free-motion a wavy line, just try Free-motioning a straight line. I can guarantee you it will probably turn out wavy.” 😂 Thanks, Angela, for all you do.

Best Tutorial you have ever done for beginner free motion quilters. These are my beginner mistakes/or not. I do believe mistakes are never made. Just personal signatures. You are not a quilt snob and never have been. No right no wrong. Just done and maybe improve or not, improvise and make it my own touches. Confidence. Tired of rules. Love the ladies who color out side the li e and teach as such. I truely love the annual quilters and rigid rule followers. I just cannot achieve their standards but I want to belong to the club.. You make me feel like I can join the team. I love applique: embellishments and my own freemotion interpretations. You give confidence. That is your gift. I am old and happy.

I get to quilt my aunts very first quilt that she ever made. Claims she hates the colors!!! My thought is she hates the imperfections. My mom and I think it is beautiful. So she said you quilt it then and give it to your mom. I have had it for a few months. Going to combine some dot to dots, ruler quilting, meandering and some random swirls. Such great practice! I am excited to share it on the Facebook group!

Thank you so much for providing these videos. I am new to free motion machine quilting and am enjoying all the tips that you provide. I am from Hanna, Alberta, Canada and with this pandemic it's refreshing to learn something new from home.

Hey Angela love these videos! Are you bringing back the Midnight Quilt Show? I loved those that is how I started watching you even before you joined Craftsy.

It is so tremendously helpful that you share what and how you do things yet still emphasize that we need to find what works the best for us. When a beginner, a quilter can have no idea where to even start, then as we get more experience, the more advanced tips you provide start to make more sense.

Angela, this was so informative and inspiring! Thank you for these Thursday Chats. I think this one of the most helpful to me of all your quilt videos so far. I shouldn't say this, because through the years I have learned so much from you. Mahalo nui loa from Maui.

I enjoy watching the demo along with the chat. So many wonderful ideas. When I am deciding on a design for an area I use a large piece of plexiglass and erasable markers to draw out the design. Being clear it gives a nice idea of how something will look. Place a sticker or tape to keep the right side up to avoid marker on the quilt area.Thank you for all the instruction and encouragement.

A confidence builder would be to use a contrasting thread on one practice piece, the do it again with a thread ghat blend. You will be amazed!! I promise.

It’s nice to know that we don’t have to aim for show quality on every quilt we do. It’s ok to have fun, try new things and just play!

Question: I’ve tried using wool batting to get that puffiness, but I also got tons of tucks on the back. I was safety pinning the layers together, but would spray basting be better in that case? Or other thoughts on that? Thanks so much!
