Ty Best explanation of water table depth and pump depth function I’ve seen Been wondering about this info for a while to do this in FL Ty again

I enjoyed the good humored way you handled some of the questions. Regarding finding water by dowsing or witching, I agree with you that it isn't a useful way to find water. That said I have heldthe metal rods, I think they were copper, and despite my lack of faith in the magic the rods did swing at times from some sort of external force. I've seen electricians & plumbers use this method to find buried pipe and electrical wire. I've never heard a scientific explanation but there seems to be some sort of force not unlike magnetism. I am pretty sure using this method to find water however is a scam. A well driller I know is happy when a customer brings out a water witch / dowser because that takes the pressure to hit water off of the driller. 😆 Thanks for the videos !!!

Your explanation of the pump depth was very helpful.

I love your technical drawings, great explanations, and the dad type wisdom, "just dig another hole somewhere". ha ha I think it's the discovery I like best about this channel. Thank you.

You Sir, have the patience of a saint! Great video as always. Quick question, are you planning a video using the new metal washdown valve? Thanks!!

Yes! There's another property that needs a well installed, I will record the washdown method and publish it. Will be a month or so, stay tuned

How might this work in a geothermal application? Perhaps 50 of these 40 foot holes? What tweaks would be needed for geothermal? With geothermal you want to put down 3/4 inch slinky -- put this down the 2 inch pipe and then remove the 2 inch pipe? Possibly if you hit water you might be able to extract the heat from the water and not need such a great length of slinky.

Dowsing rods work, I was also a sceptic until I did it myself. They work, probably not for deep water, but certainly for utilities and pipes, just making use of changes in electromagnetic fields I'd assume. Also great videos! Actually helpful and informative. I want to try dig a well at some point.

Yeah this guy is a looney. If rods didn't work, then people wouldn't use them.

Could you use the 4 inch pvc, then the 2 1/2, use the power washer, and once your deep enough, drop a 1 inch copper or steel pipe in there with the well point?

Would that electric pipe heating cable work if it's only above ground? Where I am the frost line is over 2 feet down, so you could still potentially run into a frozen and busted pipe if the ground freezes, right?

I don't know yet. I will be able to test it here in a couple months when it gets colder and I will make a video of the results.

Ok this video answered a prior comment i did in the first video, way cheaper than pay a company here about $50 per foot just to drill,
@BadHomeowner4 ай бұрын
Exactly, and because I built it, I don't have to rely on anyone else to fix it if something goes wrong.
