can you make a video describing your journey to college and dental school. because like you said in this video you graduated in 2010, so you are not a "traditional student" and there are many others that fit that description such as myself and would love to hear your journey. it would be very helpful

I suggest to take 6 credits in Intro. Human Physiology, 3 credits in Intro. Micro. & Immuno. and 3 credits in Intro. Biochem. That's what I did and got good Canadian DAT grades. Gen. Chem. from The Organic Chemistry Tutor on KZbin, He is Great! Then Study Gen. Bio. and focus on cells. Then buy practice tests for the subjects in the DAT. This should be sufficient to get great grades, and luck is important too :) Good luck everyone!

Loved the video! Is there any way you could answer a question I have based on living expenses. I was just wondering how are you paying those expenses and while not being able to hold a job in Dental school?

You probably won’t see this, but aren’t the metal fillings only for pediatric patients?

Wats the proper approach for shadowing a dentist?? Thanks.....
@trevorwestdds55056 жыл бұрын
Most dentists are really open for anyone to Shadow them. I personally think it's more respectful if you go into the office to ask if you can. And then if they accept, ask them what kind of attire you should wear... business casual or scrubs are the usual. And once you are there, before the Dr starts a procedure you can ask him if he's comfortable with you asking questions during the procedure. All the shadowing I've done, the Dr has been extremely nice and willing to explain as much as I care to know

I know that studying is so important but I feel like sometimes all people do is study and not have a life outside of school to meet people and possibly date! How can you do make time for both?
@trevorwestdds55056 жыл бұрын
It's really tough. We are still working things out! So far, if I have a really tough week, we both understand that we won't have much time together. And then when a lighter week comes around we spend as much time together as we can. It's a tough balancing act though!

Hey Trevor! I’m an osu student taking o-chem next year...any advice?
@trevorwestdds55056 жыл бұрын
Oou good luck! O chem is a tough one, but you'll do fine. Make sure you don't get behind because the entire class builds on itself. The principles you learn in the first few weeks will be the key understanding the more complex reactions later on. The trends you'll learn with electronegativity, size, polarization blah blah blah are super important to understand. Go bucks

Hey I have a question. How does dental school look at audits for say, organic chemistry?
@trevorwestdds55056 жыл бұрын
Hey Mary, I'm not sure what you mean by audits. Like a retake?
@DaDanDolya6 жыл бұрын
audits usually mean you're in the class but just observing and are not actually receiving a grade nor the credit. Majority of dental schools require you to have the credits for organic chemistry.
@KidMFeng6 жыл бұрын
Like an audit or "AU" on the transcript. I audit because of a family emergency. Technically not a retake just because there was not a grade on it the first time.

My question to you Trevor is if Im going to be 43 when I graduate with my bachelor's degree - Is it worth it to become a dentist providing I get accepted in dental school? I heard it's about 300 - 500 k for dental school.....Im also looking at chiropractic school which is about 115 k......Can you work till about 65 or so as a dentist or is it too taxing on your body? Im concerned about paying debts back also? Also does having a master's degree or dental hygienist degree help to get into dental school or EMT or extra shadowing .....What can one do to really stand out as im aasuming dental school is very competitive....? Thanks for any advice....also What's your imput on chiropractic school....

For sure, I have found uni is far more reflective of how hard working someone is rather than how 'smart' they are.

well, a bit of both, but more towards conscientiousness.
