I love these nail vids... they make me feel like I can have long pretty nails. I try to grow mine out often but when they reach a "long" length they break in some fashion. I also have this terrible tendency to bend my nails (usually index and thumb) when they get too long which causes them to break off. I don't know why I do it. :'(

Check the dollar store. The Dollar Tree here has a bunch at any given time, and its usually different everytime i go in, you can get french mani sets for a buck, mini mani sets, cotton squares, remover, files, i even scooped up a kit with those gems in it and some of the design polishes with the super thin brush for doing flowers and stuff, one time. i dont use tips or acrilic/fake/glue on nails but im sure ive seen those there as well and those design decals...

imight try this! thanks! my nails arent as long as yours but they chip off so easily, expecially when i open doors or grab things, something just has to break my nail. i hope the strengthening method will help

This is helpful. My nails are quite long but i want them much longer :D I use olive oil for hydrating my nails but i only do it once a week after pushing back my cuticles and before applying nail polish. I'm going to do this more often and see if they grow faster. Thank you for sharing this :)

Of course its not going to be all professional grade stuff but it builds a collection quickly! one down side is that i dont think ive ever gone in there and been able to get all of that at once, but i think thats mainly to do with the stocking, or lack thereof, at my local Dollar Tree. i think they have those everywhere, i live in WA state now but 5 years ago i was in Boston and they had them there too, and in Cali...hope i was helpful!!!

gr8 vid as usual Raq. u even gave the tip ive used for yrs myslef- of painting the edges around. also good nail care i tell pl itry to help is 3 things -the products u use is big part but its just 1 area. the others are still 2)diet m and 3) care and being protective of them.. so its good u mentioned that side of it. ive used almost oils on my cuticles for about 9yrs and its made my nails so strong with all other steps. take care! xx Nat

Finally, my nails have begun growing a lot faster! I foud the "key" to what makes my nails grow. I drink much more water and i moisturize my nails about five times a day, i know, its a lot, but it really works for me :D So happy. ;)

I love you! as u said, the IBD RECONSTRUX is one of the best things that I ever purchased. I'm from México and the recronstriux here is a little bit expensive, like 8 dollars (100 pesos) but its awesome, I really recomend it, I went to a sally a month ago to look up for a nail treatment because my nails are very thiny and sometimes I bite them, now its rare to bite my nails.

I couldnt get a hold of the mediterranean olive, almond and sage but it looks so nice I really wanted to try it, So I actually managed to find someone on ebay who will make a balm with olive almond and sage in it. I am so excited about it. Thanks for the great ideas :)

For very weak nails try Mavala nailhardener! It makes your nails superstrong! After using it always use a basecoat to protec tyour nails! Also put a little on the edge and under the nail. And the more coats of polish you wear the better your nails are protected!

In other videos she has said she doesn't cut her cuticles, she just pushes them back gently and hydrates them 3x daily. She files her nails once a week, to control the length. She doesn't file the edges, just the tip. I bite my nails too, but have been able to resist the urge by starting with an excellent manicure. When the cuticles and nail edges are smooth, and there are a few layers of polish on, the urge to bite is reduced because there are no ragged bits to catch my attention.

you really are on to something, conditioning the cuticle is as important to strong nails as using hardeners,at the moment I am using up sally H vitamin E for nails oil will start using reg vit E next..and Burt's bee's cuticle balm..and I just bought 3 pairs of rubber gloves at the 99 cent store to keep in all rooms I do scrubbing..I hate them but my nails thank me...not to mention they keep your polish chipping at bay also putting base on tips works miracles ty...love your tut's thanks much

Also when youre at drug stores, etc. check the clearance bins, check everywhere, i just recently found a shoebox sized box on a clearance shelf pushed WAY behind everything, i pulled it out and it was half way filled with clearance polishes. origonal 9 bucks for a dollar something ea. also a lot of stores have $1 sections now, you might check there =)

It´s funny, but I´m a bit lost when it comes to cuticle oils...I never used them before, so I did buy one....so I removed old polish, washed hands and did apply oil..but when I should apply nail polish (strengthener) ?? Even after two hours after applying oil nails are still oily...so I should wash them and then apply nail polish? Or just to wipe with handkerchief? thank you for answer.

for those who cant stop biting their nails . put perfume under your nails and watch if u dont stop biting them. thats how i let mine grow and i clean them with acetone every time i put a new nail polish but dont take a nail from polish if you dont want color get clear polish but keep putting polish , it will make you aware that you have chemicals in ur nails and will make you not even take a lick lol and if they crack, put super glue then thinly file..

Ha, I also tried growing stronger nails and started taking vitamins, for skin, hair and nails( Still do) my nails did grow faster, but not stronger, and after severals years of doing this, my nails still grow the same, faster not stronger, but my hair, grows super fast, about 9-10inches a year, average is about 6inches :).
