I always do the marker from the back. This way if my hand slips, I don't have a stray line on the front, it is on the back and hidden. This also allows me to go a bit faster, since I don't have to worry about making a mistake. I have recently started following your videos and really enjoy them. Thanks

Thank you for all the tips and hints. Very informative :) A technique that helps me is to do a "wedge cut" into a v-shaped part of my image which helps to stop my scissors before I go too far! You inferred rough-cutting an image first so that you don't have too much "scrap weight". Working with less weight paper really helps lessen the drag on my scissors.. Love your videos!

This is very helpful. I'm not to good st the fussy cutting but I think I have the image up too close to the tip. I will try the way you do it and do more practice. Thanks so much.

I think it will make a big difference, Judi, if you're cutting with the part of the snips closest to the handles. Hope it helps.

Great tips! Wish I would have found your videos when I first started making cards. I figured out the cutting part but never thought of hitting the edges with a marker or sponge. I'll do that going forward. Guess i'm still not very relaxed when I cut, my left hand cramps terribly. I'll share this with my sister!

Hi Sage, Great tutorial my friend. I love watching you, could watch for hours. Are you going to do a Christmas in July projects or cards? I would love that. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. As always you were brilliant! Blessings to you and yours! 💜💜💜 Kathy B. (Fairylady0227)

Thanks, Kathy. I don't actually do video tutorials, my videos are more about techniques, tips for using tools and other products, etc. If I show a technique, I show an example of how I used it, but don't teach the whole card. I leave that up to viewers. Keeps my videos shorter and more informational than project oriented. Thanks for all your great comments and support.

TheMadStamper Sage please see the Marriam Webster Dictionary. You are doing a tutorial wether or not you wish to call it that. You are teaching us a technique, even demonstrating a tool is a tutorial. You are tutoring, educating us. You are just choosing not to expand help with the creativity using the tutorial or tip. And that's ok, there are plenty who do teach cardmaking on KZbin. It would just nice to see you demonstrate the tutorial with a creative element too. After all that is why we are learning your tips, to become better paper and mixed media crafters. We buy Stampin Up because it does much of the work of coordination for us. Thanks for all you do my friend, it means a lot. 💜💞💜

Thanks for the clarification, Kathy. I think most cardmakers think of tutorials as instructions for a full project, which is why I make the distinction. I guess I don't need to keep doing that!

Thank for the tip Sage, but not so easy when i am left handed using right handed snips! Haha

You're right, Natalie. I'm sorry I don't have a solution for you.
