I'm not starting a candle business but I"m adding candles and melts to one of my boutiques, but I'm so glad you are teaching women to look for critiques....so many people are not open to change or tweaking their process or products. I had never heard of a pre-sale. What a lovely idea! I contacted 4 or 5 friends who will be my 'beta testers'. I asked each to critique me on shipping, packaging, cold and hot throw, etc. Mind you, this hasn't happened yet and they all know it will be in a month or so before it happens. The people I picked will be honest without being cruel or simply, as you stated, critique for the sake of it. I believe after I do my 'beta test' I will attempt a pre-sale. Thank you!

Hey all! I didn't know about PreSales. I'm new to candle making (started in Nov 21 them got Long Covid in Dec so I was out of commission for a minute. Luckily I started with wax melts and got really good at it quickly so I've been selling them hand over fist! So I call it my pre-launch just to get my name and products out there. I'm still working on my candle line. I can't send anything out that is not 💯. I've also started making and selling scented air diffusers! They're a big hit too! Good luck to all of new candle makers out there!!

Lakeisha Jones Hello! Thanks for watching! I started out with 6 year round scents. And then continued to just slowly release other year round every few months and seasonal scents as well. Do what you can handle! So now I have 7 main scents and one summer scent. I plan to release two more main scents and currently testing fall scents for release!

I just started creating a landing page for each product i am going to release next year (2 at the moment). Those who sign up will get the pre-order link first and then I’ll post it on social media. How long do you suggest a pre-order should last? I’m on rest/maternity leave until January of next year and I’m not sure when I should send out pre-order links and how long of a wait is too long. If you want to allow them to cure that long, sure! But make sure your customers understand how long before they will get the products!

Hey! If you’re using soy wax, scents will never pack a major scent. It’s just the nature of the wax. I use a 10% Fragrance Load and mine has a pretty good scent throw considering it’s soy wax
