i just purchased a longarm and spent the first month getting to know Pele (the machine named after Hawiian Goddess of fire) with pantographs. I have enjoyed free motion on my domestic machine and was finally ready to begin free motion with the BIG girl. I am so grateful for your generosity with videos and instruction sheets. I also appreciate your comfortable and educational style. with much gratitude, Moonquilter.

Angela you helped me jumpstart my creative side with your FMQ videos. I decided to just go with it. My friends are all so curious what I will do next. I quilt with a HQ Stitch 710 and I love it. I am now getting friendly with rulers. I quilt small and very large quilts on this machine. Love it and highly recommend it. I really don't have room for a longarm anyway but I am happy with the freedom to travel easily all over my quilt. My preferred basting is pinning and it works well. Thanks so much for your enthusiasm and your videos. You inspired me to become the quilter that I am beginning to see.

Thank you so much for all these videos. In the last two years I have not been able to follow real time with your challenges, so now I am watching and learning from these Challenge videos in a "fire hose" fashion! My, there is so much to learn from you, and you are a fun, knowledgeable teacher! I am hoping to put much of your FMQ lessons into this old head, and then onto my quilts. Yes, I will practice, practice, practice!

When I finish this challenge quilt I am going to hanging it on my wall in my quilt room and when I can't think of 'How to quilt that block" I will see my inspiration on the wall. If that's not enough go back and rewatch all your videos and I know I'll get one for sure.I have told my quilting group y'all have to get Angela Walter's rulers they are so easy to use and back of the cardboard they come with is other designs to do.Thank you for making these videos and rulers for domestic machines and all the challenges makes us do it and not just watch. I can't wait till next challenge.I going to take this time before you start next one to finish up this one.Merry Christmas to Y'all ! Yes, I'm from Texas can ya tell ?

I quilt without the foot pedal, which is best without or using a pedal, its just without I can concentrate what my hands are doing?

I have a difficult time keeping the quilt sandwich at the corners flat when quilting on my sewing machine. I sometimes get tucks and wonky fabric at the corners. Do you have tips for keeping the fabric smooth at the corners on a domestic sewing machine?
@little19425 жыл бұрын
Laura Todd I found that hitting the corners with a bit of spray glue before quilting helps immensely. Also using a Slidex or Supreme Slider helps maintain a “slippery” base to move the quilt. I hope that helps.

Little 1, thanks! I do use a slider, but I hadn’t thought of spray baste. Thanks.

Laura Todd Your welcome! I use a spray when quilting, but found after all that motion that the corners become “unglued” (pun intended) after a lot of handling. A little spritz will go a long ways. Good luck! Merry Christmas to you!
