Hi Everyone, Welcome to my channel!
Every Tuesday I’ll bring you tutorials, tool reviews and vlogs all about plastering.
My name’s Anthony and I’m a third generation plasterer from Prestatyn in North Wales. I’ve been plastering since 1999 and I’ve had the fortune to have been taught by my dad. I want to help spread the knowledge that I’ve learnt and to keep developing my skills. Plastering is an ever evolving trade and I would love for you to join me on my journey.

Nice clean job, blended it well. One thing i would say, is have yourself on normal speed when casting. People wanting to learn might want to see your technique. Great job!

My thoughts exactly. Nice vid, just tuned in to see the process of getting the pebbles on the cement. We can all throw but it'd be good to see that element. Cheers.

Hi Anthony great video, just a question ...I live in a pebble dashed bungalow that is in need of replacement with new pebble dash......I am also having a window taken out, replacing with patio doors. Can you please tell me the order of how things happen ...should the existing pebble dash be removed before the door frame is fitted?

The render thats pebbledashed on the back back of my house is old and has come away where ive had new windows put in and also coming away around back door. A renderer told me it cant be fixed and said should take it all off and put new up. Dont think he actually check how much of it was hollow. Any advice? Cant afford the full job atm
@AnthonyParryPlastering
@AnthonyParryPlastering 2 ай бұрын
Honestly I would probably go with the advice of the renderer. Once the pebbledash has blown(goes hollow) it tends to keep going. The pebbledash will never look perfect when you patch it up. You might end up paying twice Best advice would be to get multiple plasterers/ renderers to have a look and take their advice. Hope that helps

Were the pebbles thrown onto the wet cement?
@AnthonyParryPlastering
@AnthonyParryPlastering 9 ай бұрын
Yes the sand and cement needs to be fairly wet. It a balance thou if it’s too wet the pebbles will slide down. It’s all about controlling the suction

I have black damp patches on external pebbledash just around the corners of windowsills how can I fix this, any suggestions please
@AnthonyParryPlastering
@AnthonyParryPlastering 2 жыл бұрын
It’s mostly likely gonna be staining from the dirt collecting on the windowsills and when we it rains it just runs down the wall and stains it. You can try hosing it off but then you have the risk of the pebbles coming lose.

You said you use “Red sand “ is that building sand ?
@AnthonyParryPlastering
@AnthonyParryPlastering 4 ай бұрын
Yeah building sand will be the same. Here in North Wales we’ve got red sand, which is little less gritty as the building sand.

@@barrybloggs22 its just what we have up here in north wales, we don’t have plastering sand because we have our own quarries here.

Anthony what's the tightest coat you would do with normal render? I've seen some render where they have gone over the old tyrolean stuff but it's a crap coat of red sand and it's soft but only like a skim to smooth it off. Could it be scraped off and redone with a good waterproof mix? Adhesive under it?
