Hi Nikki, your tips are great. Making a list truly gives you a visual about how many gifts you plan to make.

I love the idea of assessing your supplies and then planning the gifts -- that is genius!

Appreciate all the tips. I love the printed list, as I make a list on just a random scrap of paper. I also make a list of each person I need to buy/ make a gift for and what I plan. As I make/ buy something, I check it off or add it. As each person is done, I highlight their name. I use the list when I wrap their gifts to be sure I got everything . Love your channel!

‘Tis the season! Last week, I brainstormed a list of all the things I might like to sew for gifts, including things people have specifically asked me to create. Now I’m curating the list. Your five tips are perfect guidelines as I get organized. Some projects, such as making a quilt for a BFF using her late husband’s ties, will need to wait until January. (By the way, last year I made your oversized hot pads for my adult siblings. HUGE hit. For this year, my super-sweet SIL hinted that she could really use another one. And many adult niblings…nieces and nephews…hope to see one rolled up in their stockings as well.)

Thanks for always being so kind and encouraging. I'm gift batch sewing some coffee sleeves, and covers to go on special wood handled bread knives. I'm using up scraps and stash fabric.

I have always done something they want, they need, to wear, to read, plus a coffee mug with packets of gourmet cocoa or tea, and an ornament for the kids. This year, everyone gets handmade items (book sleeves, pillowcases, zipper pouches) and a book because we're on an extreme budget. The adults are getting homemade vanilla, and because we have a farm, a dz eggs, and some farm raised pork or chicken. If I have time I'll crochet gift tags that are also ornaments.

I’m crocheting ornaments this year too! And my MIL made us vanilla one year, it was amazing, such a great gift.

I want to use these tips (and make a worksheet!) for all my sewing projects, not just for Christmas. I need a way to keep track of current projects, and prioritize my to-sew list. So it's easier to work my way through it. Including due dates. I'll work on it. Thanks for the inspiration.

My realization: if this event were tonight would I be excited about going?…..I assume I will later, because I should want to go, everyone else thinks I should love it/go….NO. And so thank you for helping me narrow down my realistic yes.

I like to buy blank items and then add a little homemade pizzazz - this year, it's canvas market bags. They are plain and I'm going to sew onto them some quilt.blocks or decorative strips. Yes, i could the bags but it's quicker and less stressful to do it this way. Next year, i might add a closing strap to a plain hardcover notebook???

I am taking tip 5 to heart!
@sleepycat888711 сағат бұрын
Thank you! All tips are great but tip 3 is and tip 5 are my favourite. I also like to pass on things that are no longer used needed but still have good life in it. I do not like waste. I have so many scraps awaiting for me to sew oven gloves 😂. This year, after 30 dresses for dress a girl…. I’m a little spent. I haven’t started Xmas sewing and am dreading it. Soooo maybe I buy some stuff the most this year. 😅😅

Thanks, I needed this! Some of my gift sewing may be pushed into the coming year, at least the big things. Tell us about the mice! I don't remember seeing these before but I want to make some! Thanks Nikki!

That’s the problem Nikki! I wanna give gifts to everyone but my bank account went on strike! Lol 😂 I wish I was Uber wealthy and I could spend tons of money and treat all my loved ones with everything they deserve. Yes! I know I would be wealthy for long but for me it’s not about hoarding money, it’s about helping people.

Today Me and Tomorrow Me and Next Month Me are all vastly different people who have never, ever met - and yet, I structure my whole life around Next Month Me. That's something I need to think about...right now.

Christmas planning video perfection. Less the bells, I listen on headphones so that I can keep my hands free and those are quite piercing. Sorry. 😢 but great content otherwise.
