Tips for Selling Used Barbie Dolls on Ebay and Mercari

The head stamp is the year it came out with that molded face, usually also the year that doll was sold / released ,the back stamp is the body mold. This is true for most newer dolls 90's and up. I love Barbie! TY for your tips!!!

Recently sold a curvy Barbie. Used and 8x6x4 box, but I just put her at an angle like she was sitting down wth legs out. I put her in a poly bag and then in the box. Fit perfectly.

You are PRECIOUS. I can tell that you truly care about my experience in selling Barbie. I started collecting her when I told my daughter that as a young girl my family was too poor to afford one for me. My first Barbie was at age 50 from my sweet girl. I then quite by accident discovered a lot of them online. I was hooked and now have hundreds. Like you I love cleaning and dressing them and have some more valuable boxed. I ship barbies just with minor cushion in a poly bag. It's the cheapest. Barbies are not easy to break. Put fragile on them. I do bag them first, especially if there are small accessories.

Using the words "style or Like" and then adding something like Barbie or another brand would be considered key word spamming. eBay frowns on that practice. They used to pull those listings. I dont know if they still do or not.

Sorry for the late response. Most of the barbies I sell do not have their shoes or their box. You should have no problem selling the doll as long as you clean her up and present her nicely in the photographs. Good luck ❤️😀

I have a question for anyone who has experience in this matter and would be so kind to help me out. I have a few New Barbies that are currently in their box, they come with everything, but the boxes have some big rips in the plastic and the boxes are just not appealing anymore. Should I just take them out of the box and sell them as new without the box and if so, what would be a reasonable price drop? Thank you to whoever can answer this.

Absolutely! I actually remove Barbies from boxes that are in good condition. A lot of Collectors are going to remove the dolls from their boxes anyways and if you do it for them, you could charge them less for shipping. You really don’t have to discount the doll that much. I would just offer either free shipping or a Low shipping cost. Hope that helps!

It might burn the hair. I would practice on a doll you don't care about first. But I have never tried using a straightener. If you try it, let me know how it works!

I wish I watched this before I bought my boxes! I sell on Mercari. I got 12x4x4 boxes since I didn't want to cut up the box etc, but that trick with the 8in box is cool. The amazon bubble way keeps mine under 8 oz, but I'm nervous about damage. The box brings the cost up to 1lb. I didn't think to do what you did with the cardboard and polymailer though! I'm thinking I might try that once I run out of my 12x4x4 boxes. Have you ever had damage or complaints with the bubble mailer (#1) way of shipping?

I think those 12x4x4 are great to have in your shipping supplies because they are perfect for when you have to ship more than one doll! My cardboard trick works great. I’ve shipped many many dolls that way and have never had a complaint 😎 I wish you tons of success in your reselling business. Selling dolls is so much fun!

I do! If the item seems delicate, I hand wash it with dish soap. Otherwise I just wash it in my washing machine.
