I'm 24 and I have trouble swallowing pills. I take Iron and Vitamin D everyday, Those I don't have trouble because they're smaller. Capsules or big pills I can't do. I think because one time I choked on one and it traumatized me.

I chew on them and take them with bread and water, it helps me Bread is sort of big and it helps to cover the chewed pill and gets the rest out of your teeth when swallowing and the water gets rid of the taste

Sarina I cannot keep it down. I usually put the crushed pills in my apple sauce or smoothie. That worked for 22 years. Since August 2015, I am having problems keeping down my medicine and occasionally food. I just found out last month that there is damage to my epiglottis. I might have to have surgery or a feeding tube. Thank you for the suggestions.

Melsea Spott Try eating it in bread! It helped me lots :) I spotted taking the pill I was trying to because it caused me alot of stress and anxiety, but fold the pill in the center of the bread and just eat the bread and eventually get to the pill, and just KEEP chewing.

I’m 12 and i can’t swallow pills.. One time when I was like 5 or 6 I chocked on a peppermint and it was stuck in the middle of my throat. I had trouble breathing. My uncle got it out for me though. But that has kinda made me fear the thought of having to swallow a pill. I’ve tried lots of times and I never can. I guess I can try this method. Hopefully it works!

I'm gonna tell you guys what I do. First of all I'm 18 and I absolutely hate big pills. 1. Buy a pill cutter, that way you can cut the big pills. 2. I put the pill on my tongue and take a sip of soda. Then I shake my head a bit to make the soda fizzy and that makes it easy to swallow the pill, since the fizz makes it where the pill isn't touching your mouth. Just a thought for you guys to try.

i have tonsilities and my throat is extremly swollen, like the space between my tonsils is around half an inch. Today i had to swallow medication that was round and flat (probably the hardest type of pill to swallow IMO). I swallowed it and thought it was stuck and panicked. I think its down now :') but could someone recommend a way to swallow pills when they have a severe swollen throat?
