That’s the best advice! Don’t memorize by the numbers! Memorize by the quality, learn the tafseer and do it for your own benefit in the akhirah.

For real brother, the sad reality is life in the Arab world is now and forever tribal. When I went to Egypt to learn Arabic and all they wanted from me was English. I was patient for many years, eventually I met the Quranic sisters and began memorizing and that taught me Arabic after many years. 25 years later I returned to the states and thats another struggle.
