As Christians, we are called to grow in the likeness and spirit of Christ. Whether single or married, this is our ultimate goal and purpose because it brings glory to God. Spiritual growth is not a means to an end, a quest for a reward, or a trade for what you desire. Rather, it is the living sacrifice of love, obedience, and thankfulness to our Lord for His amazing grace. This is why I am often wary of the assertion that earthly blessings are necessarily attached to spiritual maturity. Singles often hear the assertion that if they simply focus on their relationship with God and grow in righteousness, a spouse will suddenly appear. I have heard this on more than one occasion and it always rings hollow. This is not because growing in grace and truth is unsound advice, but rather because it is unscriptural to assert that realizing our earthly desires necessarily hinges on spiritual maturity. As stated above, the point of spiritual growth is to become more like Christ, not to get what we want on earth. Now, of course it is true that living in obedience and righteousness and conforming ourselves to the image of Christ can and will bring about blessings. Psalm 1 demonstrates this principle. Correspondingly, a life of sinfulness and disobedience will not bring about the blessings and peace found in a life renewed and regenerated by the redemptive work of Christ. However, there is no guarantee that we will be given what we desire while on earth even if we are walking in faith and truth. Spiritual maturity will not guarantee a spouse or health or earthly happiness. I know spiritually mature Christians who have remained unmarried for years upon years (despite longing and praying for a spouse) while other, less mature, carnally-minded Christians already have spouses and are enjoying all the benefits of such a relationship. When attempting to comfort singles who are facing the trial of prolonged, unwanted singleness, people will often point to Christ's words in Matthew 6 as evidence that if a person seeks the kingdom of heaven and God's righteousness, all things will be "added to them," as if that is the formula for getting what you want. However, many Christians starve to death, many are murdered for their faith, and many will live earthly lives that are utterly lacking in certain pleasures, enjoyments, and blessings that are showered upon others who seem to be living more unfaithful lives. Does this mean that God is unfaithful? Was Christ being misleading? Not at all. Rather, it demonstrates that the ultimate fulfillment of Christ's words and God's promises are not found on earth, but rather in heaven. Spiritual growth and maturity do not guarantee earthly happiness. They will not guarantee a spouse. They do, however, store up a treasure of eternal joy and union with Christ in heaven. 1st John 2:25 says, "this is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life." Until we fully realize this promise in His presence, we must learn to follow Christ's examples and pray "not my will, but Yours be done," no matter how painful or confusing God's will appears to be at the time.

This video topic is tricky. I love the points you brought up. If you are only focussed on fixing yourself or you think that God will ONLY give you that person when you are all fixed- is a toxic way to live. I've been in this spiral for years. It makes God the bad guy and that's not who He is. It has left me feeling angry at God when I mess up or fail because I think "oh here goes another long period of me struggling until maybe one day when I stop struggling and I'm right with God He will bring me my guy." God is not watching us thinking "She's not fixed yet so it's not time for her to meet him." Thats not how He works. What if God eventually uses that person for you to help you through your struggles? Or to help you become deeper in Christ? What if its better that you are single right now or permanently to learn and grow through your own relationship with God? No matter what hear me out guys- trust in God's timing, trust in His work in your heart -single or married. Putting that pressure on yourself that you HAVE TO GET RIGHT before this person comes is not healthy. The reward should not be the man God may have for you but the reward is the spiritual growth and the closeness in your relationship with God you can have during your singleness. The extra bonus could be a future spouse if God has that for you. FIRST be with the Lord, pursue Him, pray for your own heart and let the Holy Spirit within you work in your hearts no matter what you are struggling with. Pursue the Lord and the Holy Spirit within you will do the heart changing. Find community, go to church, read scripture, pray and worship Him. God is good and He loves you and wants the best for His daughters and sons!

I really love your insight on being a single woman. Thank you for putting this message out there because God has spoken out to your heart to warn others and ease their mind to do the righteous thing for the glory of God and I do relate to what you said about falling for any man or even a rock 😂 but I love that you mention prayer is so powerful and we should lean more unto God on the day of our singleness because truly he has something much bigger and better for his/ her sons and daughters. And we should be more patient with him because all things works together for his goodness. The person he has for us is much better than what we are seeking out there or chasing after. It will all be worth it if we are patient with him and most importantly praying about it should be our first priority. 😊 Thank you a million times for this video. Many blessings upon you and I do believe you will indeed find the one that God the almighty has reserved for you!!! -cheers💕

Thank you so much, Nastasia! Your video helped me a lot. I also think that this is the best video on singleness I've ever watched. Cause so often married people give advice on that and I doubt that they understand our suffering. Cause it's easy to teach others when you already found your spouse. I'm 24 and singleness kills me and sometimes I feel like I'm gonna be single forever as I've always been single...it's sooo hard. But as you said we need to focus on Jesus and grow

Heading out of college and I feel this on a spiritual level. Except I don’t believe in praying for your future husband. I found it just makes me more impatient. I guess praying that God would change my attraction to only notice the guy I’m meant to be with, if he has someone. I don’t believe there’s someone for everyone. My aunt is single (56) and she wants to get married. It hasn’t happened.

I’ve been single for over 35+ years. And at my age now, I don’t want anyone now. To old to start a family. I believe God doesn’t want me to have a family. I’m a Christian, go to church, read the Bible daily, pray daily and still depressed. I only leave my house to go to church, doctors appointment or grocery shopping. I don’t visit friends because they have families, kids and even grand kids. I have none. It’s depressing.

Hey sis, I just came from a previous video and I have one more after this, but around this time [ 2:21 ] was when I stopped and was prompted to ask why you me and other girls (and guys!) want marriage so bad… and I think there are multiple reasons we are drawn to marriage to the point of suffering, and the one I am about to expose may not apply to all or for the same reasons, but definitely I encourage us asking ourselves why we want this beyond the obvious bc it would be nice to have a husband and kids and family one day. For me, I believe it’s bc if I have a family of my own, I can have my own bubble of perfect happiness where no one can disappoint me. Now, this sounds super fantasy or imaginary but I kid you not, it basically boils down to serving me and my needs rather than kingdom building. How could that be if I’m a Christian who raises my kids to be Christian and to be proud of the gospel? Well… bc what if their obedience to the lord isn’t what I would like or agree to or something that disrupts that picture, would I still be for it? Or if I would be, would I be for them being less than Christian in any way? If my perfect image of family was shattered, would I still want a family? Anyways, that’s just my take when I ask why do I really want to get married and have a family. The enemy touched my life with divorced parents, and as much as I hate him for that, I am learning that the evil comes in resentment towards that and seeking to remedy that in my own life. See, bc it’s our own regrets that we pass on to our children even when we don’t mean to, and that includes when our entire desire is to have a family when it’s really not. I hope this comment blesses you! Your content definitely is blessing me. I will continue listening now to this and the one to come!

There is no other name under heaven given among men where by we must be saved. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. All have lied all has stolen. So we all must be born again by Gods spirit. By one man Adam sin came into the world. And by one man Jesus Christ sin can be forgiven!!! We are saved by grace through faith and not of yourself, it is the gift of God not of works so no one can boast. Christians trust God’s finished work alone ! His righteousness is what God sees when he looks at us ! We do good works for rewards and obedience not to earn our own way to heaven!!! Bible says God doesn’t share his glory with another

My main problem is that every woman I meet is either somebody's wife or girlfriend . If I could meet the right woman, she'd be love --- starved, ignored by men for most of her life, and she'd be hungering, thirsting, and craving a marriage, so my one and only problem would be solved forever .

I know all that. I just don't know how long it will take me to change to be the person that God's wants me to be. as far as i know, i m very slow in progress, i just want to know the timeline. It scares me to think i might take 5 years to really be good enough for God to give me the right person. That means I will have to struggles my signleness for 5 more years.

Second, I am as guilty of this as anyone, but let’s not assume that everyone should get married or encourage everyone to get married. We need to reclaim the beauty of singleness as it is taught in the scriptures. Devoting one’s life to the Lord as a single person is something God commends, but we often view it as a second-class life. Yes, God intends most people to get married, but it doesn’t follow that singleness is second-class. Indeed, Paul prefers singleness since one can devote oneself to ministry and to the Lord without distraction.

The last two years to be spiritually woken up like I have been at to have everything happen to be like it has and I miss my children and others and I wasn’t lying about who I was and now because of how I was treated I at this present time don’t want any man at all in my life although I still have feelings for someone and I don’t want to discuss relationships at all I want to discuss how you know if you should even hold onto your faith or if you have true faith or is it that being a Christian is some kind of sexual abuse or occult?

Men and women shouldn't be happy single. They should crave a family and be miserable if they don't have one. God demands that we go forth and multiply and the only way to properly serve God is through vocations (holy orders or marriage). Too many people out there become content with being single, then they get complacent and then 40 years old rolls arounds and they are still single because they've become so satisfied that they ignore God's signs about the spouse he has given to them. I see it all the time. Christians become happy and satisfied being single, then they get the mentality that God will magically drop a wife or husband from the sky in front of them. Never be happy or satisfied until you have reached Heaven, that (along with God's will) will drive you forward properly.
